NBO - 12 Days of Summer BIF

So I had a pretty crappy day, so was really looking forward to ripping into day 4. @NJB145 hit this one on the head. This is one of my favorite beers and my favorite from New Glarus. Unfortunately, it is my wife's favorite as well. Thanks Nate!

 

@campa86 nailed yet another day. Sour in the Rye w/ Peaches has been a big want of mine. Had to break out the teku for this one. A decent amount of funk on the nose, I knew where this was going. Crisp and refreshing, starts with a decent amount of tart but has a big smooth peach finish. Absolutely delicious! Best part is that I have the entire 750ml to myself tonight! Picked the right night to get the child to bed early and watch the second game of a Cubs double header. Thanks again Michael!

Day 4 via @RuckIt unfortunately Im on the road and couldn't enjoy pgw but this is a familiar favorite. Enjoying our 12 days circle jerk with @Mipper, @PA-Michigander, @mmbr and @ninjembro.

 

Another day, another PAA stout from @JNForsyth - and that is in no way a bad thing. Tick after tick after tick...

This one was highest on my list from PAA, and it did not disappoint. Strong rum barrel flavor, but not overpowering. The coffee is more subtle than expected, with the vanilla and chillies warming with the beer. Another home run - world class all the way!

 

Some good beer karma finally came my way! 1st and most importantly I received the damaged box going to @HoppySeb only and extra was broken. Which Is kind of bitter sweet. Sweet being I'm able to send the original 12 beers however it was miles from Seb and they return it over a broken extra. Anyways the kid is pumped about a couple in particularly bottles that DIDN'T break. Itll be there soon Seb!

Another highlight of the day is my box arrived from @gmo_vr626. Immediately when I get home from work the lady says she needs a back rub from lifting the box. I asked for a rain check which she allowed because of my excitement. So here's the 12 day line-up:


I was like a kid shaking the box to get an idea.
Edit : Thumbing around and felt some cages. Placed bottle label 1 in the frig went and ran then showered. Eager to get get shit poppin i half assed both.


After poppin I noticed the cap was from firestone which intrigued my interest even more. It poured an awesome cran-raisen color. Light head. Nose on it was heavy with bourbon, little burnt Carmel, some burning wood. Taste was fantastic. Not as hot or boozy as the nose. Awesome dates, some plum and sweet burnt Carmel corn notes. Nice body probably due to bourbon and more of malt character.



@gmo_vr626 Thanks again man! Well worth the wait. Haven't had Sucaba but it is a WANT. Really cant believe this drinks as smooth as it does being a '15. 12 more months this could be quite dangerous!

Awesome, glad you liked it, also glad I got the order right on the PAA beers. Sadly, that is the last of the beers from them in the 12 days.

 

Me too. And I usually do those however lately been slacking. Im pretty sure I used two baggies on each beer on the second box i send lol

Hey I thought someone mention Burial brewery. Definitely a spot worth checking out. Great costumer service. Very knowledgeable staff. Reminded me a lot a couple Cincinnati brewery being kinda of downtown near abandoned building. Atmosphere was awesome as well. Very nice set up around the side of the place. Didnt have food but expected that being smaller brewery but all the beers were fantastic. IPA and black IPA was super dank. They had a very good coconut chocolate brown ale also. Only down fall was they don't do growlers of Skillet doughnut. Other than that a great brewery. Cheers

Beer Time! Day 4 will be BLIND Wahoo lol



Light colored bubbles. Nose is roasty with slight chocolate and maybe a bit of vanilla.
Taste is pretty roasty and clearly a porter not a stout. I get a bit of chocolate, but possibly from the malt and a hint of vanilla. Beer is super smooth I really enjoy it. If this a beer that isn't on my wants it definitely should have been! Tastes like something that they could barrel age with some fun adjuncts and make it crazier. Rating 4.25

Never would have guess this was barrel aged, but damn is it good! I think it was a want and like I said previously if it wasn't it definitely deserved to be! Killing it @UcDru

 

I had that apple brandy last night... Really is delicious!

One of the few in the 12-days that wasn't a new tick... But was on your wants list, so I figured I was safe. The PGW was from the same trip to Barrelworks as the Mekin, but I figure a badass bottle share is a good excuse for being without. Have fun fellas!

Just got home after a long day of work...and opened this!



This is my first Rare Barrel bottle. Really excited to try it...sounds amazing! I feel confident voting @PG2G for President! I'm going to share this bottle with friends tomorrow! They are dying to try some Rare Barrel! It's the best when you get to share the love!
