Day 6 Beer 1 of 2


Golden colour, almost completely still. The nose on this is straight paint thinner. My guess is that it's supposed to be sour. Taste is nail polish and the feel is completely still. Bad luck bottles happen so no anger here especially since this was the days 1 of 2. Can't fathom a guess other than this was an attempted AWA/Gueuze/etc.

Rivertown Ville De Rivere Geuze Vintage 2013. Definitely disappointed as I've tried their lambic and quite enjoyed it. Happy to have tried it, wonder if it's batch or bottle variation.

That one was a pretty epic bummer. Received three Rivertowne sours in a trade, first two were amazing. Saved this one for a big bottle share...disaster.

 

Tough call. I know my wife would enjoy it as much as I would. She would be very disappointed if she found out I opened something like that without her. Then again, she wouldn't have to know.

 

Looks like the 2013 vintage was especially hit or miss. My guess is that's why Drew sent a 2 bottle day for today. I'm not even a little bit mad, I have a feeling if this bottle hit it very well could have been a favorite

 

Day 6 - Joseph James Brewing BB Imperial Stout.
I've had a few of the standard offerings from this brewery, but this beer is another new one for me. Very interested to check it out.

 

Ahh sorry to hear that...I did pack a back up just in case which I think you will find satisfactory. Unfortunately their bottles are a little hit or miss although they have gone through some changes in '14 and a lot more consistent. I chose the '13 hoping it was a good bottle and that it developed a little more funk.

I hope you are happy with the "back up plan" sorry for the bummed bottle.

 

Day 6 - Soroboruo

I know the label says scotch and bourbon barrels, but I'm getting red wine/sangria flavors. There is also a ton of fruit in here. I'm enjoying it quite a bit and am on my second #bosspour as @campa86 would say, lol! Thanks again Michael!

 

We are at the halfway point and I have loved every brew @Kylo76 has sent my way thus far. Today's bottle cap was vaguely familiar and I finally determined that it was from Odell.


The color is a beautiful reddish copper. Nose had a mix of oak and raspberries. Taste is a tart raspberry.

Ok, this is getting stupid. Was a little scared when I saw a 750ml wax top. Not scared now. This is a want, and really never thought I'd get to try something like this. Huge peach nose, didn't like the flavor cold out of the fridge, but 5 mins of warming up makes it ridiculous. Ridiculous. So I'm guessing Sender X is a west coaster again.......

 

Enjoy your night out! If you recall correctly, I had a hint stating that my target would benefit from my trip to Texas and that Untappd was an excellent resource.

 

Day 7 a bit early since I'll be out of state tomorrow. New brewery for me, love the vanilla finish on this one.

I say don't do it, but I do understand the impulse. That thing is an uncarbonated lambic, so one or two of the three of you may not even like it (I LOVE Cantillon and was on the fence, though repeat tastings and it'd probably grow on me).

Start with taste-size pours and you'll probably be ok.

 

In all fairness I sent @bevoduz the same thing and made him drink it out of an Assassin teku at Xmas because he had it on his wants.
