I don't post here much but question. I have friends from back home (Grand Rapids,MI) coming in next weekend.
They want to do a brewery crawl type thing. I was wondering which ones would be the best. I love sours/Belgians and they are hopheads. I was thinking Drai, BG, East End, Round about and Voodoo. Is there any must to visit. And do any of these places do flights? Thanks in advance

BG, Round, and Voodoo serve small pours/flights. Can't speak on others.

Draai Laag and Grist House are both in Millvale so within a mile. Draai Laag has you covered in the sour dept, Grist house makes some good IPA. BG and EE are relatively close, then back close to downtown, roundabout, hop farm and church brew works being somewhat close in lawreneville area. I know Draai Laag and Roundabout do flights.

true, though I don't often work there at DL, I still do often drink there at the pub. I can be there once that is realesed to buy you a beer for your troubles. but I also know a few people who are getting some pbboc so don't feel obligated. cheers!

Voodoo does flights of their mainstays, and if it is not busy they will often do flights of the other stuff as well.

    Hey, another Grand Rapids transplant!!!

I think those that you listed are the great ones to visit. I personally wouldn't take them to Church or Penn unless you are wanting to show them neat buildings. Just had friends in recently and they weren't very impressed with Church but we did preface the stop with a "hey we are taking you here to heck out the building".

I know that the Sharp Edge on Penn had bottles of BCBS and BCBW on July 4th when I stopped by. They had Sunday Morning Stout on the menu but were out..... I was bummed

It has come to our attention recently that a small number of you have expressed displeasure with the bottles of Blackbeard's Delight you purchased as part of your Barrel Room Collection Release III allotment. We don't want to hear this. So, we brewed up a special batch of Breakfast of Champions with peanut butter for all of you who purchased an allotment. We've done several firkins of this at the pub and is one of the beers patrons have been clamoring for us to put into production. Beginning today 7.10 in Meadville and Sudnday 7.12 in Homestead, all you need to do is show up to the location you picked your allotment up at with your ID and you will receive 2 4-packs of #BOC (American flag crown- Peanut Butter) at no charge. No need to bring your Blackbeard's bottles with you, just bring the same ID you signed up with and you'll be good to go. You will also have the option to buy a third 4-pack for $10 at that time while supplies last (there are a total of 10 extra cases per location). We sincerely apologize that some of you are less than satisfied with your Blackbeard's Delight bottles and hope you accept this olive branch as a token of our appreciation for your faith and support in our brewery. We're going to hold these bottles for you guys for 30 days, if there are any remaining after that, we will sell them to the general public- they're occupying a lot of precious real estate! As always, we wouldn't be here without you guys and sincerely thank you for your continued support. Please submit any questions to [email protected] only.

Thanks for letting us know @voodoobrewery. Kudos, again, for taking such great care of your customers. I'll be out to get mine on Sunday in Homestead.

Yes another transplant. One of them has tried some of church's stuff and liked it I was just going to maybe take em there because it's a good setup. Now to figure out the loop of how to hit every place.

Still a classy move by a classy brewery. I now have another reason to sing the praises of VooDoo
