I won't tell my wife how much I spend so I'm certainly not going to tell some random group of total strangers I met on the internet.

I gave up my golf membership for motorcycle riding and beer. Still spend way more than the golf membership but the girlfriend doesn't know that. How much I spend on beer don't know what is coming out and do I have extra cash. Spent a month in Santa Rosa for training (RR, Lagunitas, Bear) spent way too much on beer but it was worth it.

Yes, but then we buy the bombers to get the empties to put the homebrew in, so double whammy!

Great thread! My wife and I go through about 5 12-packs a month times $12.99, so that is a base budget of $64.95 per month. But then again, I work around the corner from the Trillium Brewery and we just got back from a vacation in Vermont, so there is the occasional splurge! Plus beer money if we go out, but we don't really count that!

Y'all gotta find spouses who love beer just as much as you do!

Actually, the problem is finding spouses who love just as much beer as you do.

My beer budget is always calculated after I have made my purchases.

Roughly $25 per week in stores, typically bombers and 20 in bars - $180/mo.

I just have limits, not a budget, on the price per bottle/pack. It grows as beer consumption increases.

No real budget. I usually have it planned out so I have a general idea of what im spending each month. I generally will budget other non essential activities though if I know its a big beer month. Beer is my main hobby so if I have to sacrafice a couple of nights at the bar to build the celler its a no brainer.

No budget and it varies wildly from week to week. But I would say bottle purchases are probably in the $300-$400 a month range and events/bars/misc tabs are probably about the same.

I suppose that does lead to to a more-accurate accounting of how much money is spent

On Thursday or Friday (sometimes Wednesdays for discounts) I purchase enough beer to get me through the weekend. I don't have a set dollar amount, and I probably should. SO it's random chaos, and it gets really expensive when I buy bombers. Summer is a bit easier because I'll admit I buy some cheaper beer in bulk. Not so easy to do in colder months when all I buy are sixers of craft.
