Anyone here really enjoy a good Kolsch? I had Captain Lawrence Captain's Kolsch and that started my love of the Kolsch style. Recently purchased Clown Shoes Mango Kolsch, hope it lives up to expectations.

What are some of your favorite Kolsches?

The Kolsch from the Sierra Nevada summer pack is really good.

I'm drinking a Straub Kolsch tonight, and it's absolutely great; bready and crisp with just a hint of fruit (pear, berries). It comes as part of their Sunshine Sampler. I will miss it when it's gone.

Other than that I enjoy Reissdorf the best of the German imports, especially on draught.

I had the Reissdorf Kolsch at the Biergarten here in Asbury on draught and it was amazing. Looking forward to it again.

I can't say I've had a lot, but the ones that I've had I really enjoyed. Schlafly, Shiner, Fruh & a local one for me: Capitol Kolsch from Capitol City in Shirlington.

I really love the kolsch style, too bad not many craft breweries feel the same.
Small German place by me always has Gaffel Kolsch on tap, works for me, haven't had the Reissdorf yet (or at least that I remember. Will do soon.
Captain's Kolsch was lacking compared to the German beer but not a bad beer at all.
My favorite local Barrier makes a great Kolsch - Icculus, true to style, but draft only. Another local - won't name names, but you've heard of them - made one recently dry hopped with Mosaic - wasn't like a Kolsch at all - it kind of offended me.
I love the subtle grassy and floral of a true Kolsch - its shouldn't be hopped more than that.
I'm also looking for more readily available suggestions.

What's a Kolsch? I don't even know what that is without looking it up.

I quite like Reissdorf, but have routinely been disappointed by American-made examples.

Huge fan when the style is done well. Makes for an excellent summer beer. Really love New Holland's Full Circle. Locally I enjoyed Devil's Purse's Handline. Looking forward to opening that crowler this weekend.

I don't drink a ton of Kolsch but I had a couple of the CS Mango Kolsch. Very good beer and the price is right at 6 bucks a bomber.
