There are other beers in my house I think I'd rather open but I've had 2 of these burning a hole in my fridge for a minute so...yes...it's their night. Cheers BAs.

Pizza and Avengers:Age of Ultron with my son, now a good brew and a little light reading. Bought the one on the left at a school book fair when I was 8 yrs old...New...still have it. (Time to get my Patriot fan son to read it!)

Always a shame when a legend passes. RIP Snake

    Reviews:

Good English dark mild. Crystal clear with nice head retention and lacing overall. Aromas and flavors of caramel, cocoa, coffee, toast, brown sugar, dark bread, and light raisin/plum yeast fruitiness; with some moderate herbal hop and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal and roasty bitter finish. Good malt complexity and robustness; restrained yeast ester fruitiness provides nice English character in the background; and a very smooth finish with light-moderate creaminess and a touch of roast malt stickiness. Really enjoyed this one, very flavorful.

This is a straight up excellent witbier as I knew it would be. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange peel, pear, apple, light banana, coriander, clove, pepper, wheat, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal bitterness and yeast spice on the finish. Great all around balanced between yeast, spice, and pale malt flavors. Very robust and flavorful. Very smooth and fairly crisp; with some light wheat creaminess in the mouthfeel. Delicious. This is noticeably stronger on spiciness than other witbiers I have had, but it doesn't fall out of line. A bit saison-like.

DIPA with Citra/Galaxy/Belma. Insanely amazing! Aromas and flavors of HUGE tangerine, pineapple, strawberry, mango, melon, passion fruit, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine; with some moderate malts of caramel, brown sugar and toasted bread with floral/grassy hop earthiness. Nice sized pine and citrus rind bitter finish. Very smooth and resinous/sticky mouthfeel with light-moderate creaminess. This is really smooth for the 10.5%; and even though the malt character is a bit more pronounced than other DIPAs, the sweetness is right where it needs to be and is not overdone at all. Really fantastic DIPA!

My wife received a call from her doctor today, informing her that we are having another boy.
She surprised me with this when I got home...

I had always wanted a brother growing up, but never had one.
Now I will have the absolute pleasure of raising two boys, 2 years apart, and I can't wait!

I busted out one of my favorites from the cellar for the occasion...

I was at the end of my tolerance for session IPAs until tonight. Captain Lawrence Effortless IPA. Good body. No sacrifice. But I do think they could tweak the hop profile

    awesome flashback...bought the same book (far left)...school book order...when I was 11

amazing read...amazing story (although, other books shed greater light on how much of an animal/Raider he was..his "real" story...all life...is epic)

    thanks for the memory

Drinking the Grapefruit sculpin that froze from last night, and it's not bad. Can't tell any effect in carbonation or aroma, maybe slightly in taste, but not much!! :grinning: Going to follow it up with a DBA as I don't want to let go of the last sculpin just yet. Anyway, have a great Friday BA!! Cheers!
