Thanks for the unnecessary panic? But seriously, I think they have learned to set limits to where a silent release once posted doesn't sell out in a couple hours. Maybe slap your source around?

My source was the guy loading the cooler who said we're almost out at around 1.

I was just messing with you. To be fair, I've had bartenders say they have to almost be out of Caffe Americano on tap only for it to last another week or two as well. So maybe people don't like admitting that they really don't know?! CHEERS

Bottles still available but CCB is saying "bottles will probably be gone by Sunday at the latest"

So, don't expect this one to last as long as Cow Boss or Guava Grove

Grabbed some bottles this afternoon. Seemed like there's still plenty.

Can someone post their tasting notes. I would like to know if there is a citrus presence or an Orange flavor presence. Not a fan of Oranges. Wish they would have had it on tap so I could try what I was buying.

I'm flying into Tampa tomorrow night. First stop is CCB. I hope there are still bottles available.

What's the tasting notes on this? Thinking with fruity orange notes it had some solid hop
    Profile in it?

Had it tonight. It is not orangey. I mean, if you really want to dig I suppose you could find a bit of that in the hop presence. But if someone handed you a glass and didn't tell you what it was, I very much doubt you'd say, "wow, an orange stout!"

I personally prefer 2RJ over Cow Boss, which I had side by side with 2RJ tonight. Visually they're virtually indistinguishable and they both provide solid CCB mouthfeel. On taste, I thought Cow Boss had a barky, chicory kind of vibe and was a bit more roasty as to where the 2RJ leaned slightly more toward Zhukov on the sweetness scale (which I found to be a bit surprising given that Cow Boss is a milk stout and was intended to be a dessert beer). In case there remains any confusion, 2RJ is Not a coffee stout.

I enjoyed both offerings, but less so than GN Mekong and Caffe Americano. Maybe I've just become partial to coffee stouts? Or maybe it's just a little harder for these two non-BA imperial stouts to stand out amongst all the BA deliciousness Cycle has put out recently.

@TampaRainman, I didn't say I thought it was like an orange stout. Sometimes if a stout is hoppy, it can add a fruit tone to it. That's what I was getting at.

Anyhow, thanks for your in depth review on both . I think I have 1 of each coming my way when I can get down to Tampa. 2 RJs sounds up my alley while cow boss will be a wait and see beer. I agree about the coffee stouts though. It's hard to beat CA or GNM from CCB from a non BA coffee stout perspective. Thanks again for the review!

I didn't think that's what you were saying; I just wanted to note that orange/citrus was not really a prominent flavor (at least to my taste buds), despite CCB's own description of the beer.

Thanks! Glad to see the Orange profile is not that big. Can't wait to open a bottle.

I did pick some orange or citrus in mine, as well as the 2 guys I shared it with. However, I did read that the hops gave off a citrus flavor before hand...and we know the brain is a powerful thing, so I'm sure it made it easier for us to find it.

Definitely was NOT a strong "orange, citrus" flavor though, it complimented quite well. However, FWIW, I won't be paying $15 for it again - just too many better beers for less, it's nowhere near Caffe Americano for me and I'm pretty sure that's coming out again in September! Cheers
