was thinking about trying to trade for one of these two beers. Seems they are very similar styles and get a similar rating. Is one harder to get than the other. Seems that Thursday trades much higher? Is this do to bottle counts/limits or just overall quality of the beer. Do anyone have a recommendation. I was going to offer a 2010 bourbon county vanilla for either but seems it would fall short for vanilla and trades much higher than pallet 1

You should probably ask a mod to move this to the Trade Talk and Help area. To answer your question, yes, Thursday is significantly harder to get, due to lower bottle count, much lower limits (1 bottle vs 1 case) and generally preferred taste, although both are going to be excellent.

I don't follow the trade values too closely, but my impression is that you could get sigificantly more than Pallet 1 for your BCBVS (probably both Pallets, if not more), but you'd probably have to add something for Thursday. I'm sure others can chime in to add to or disagree with my value opinion. @mxracercam @GatorLCA

Thanks for the info, I figured it had a lot to do with bottle counts

Thursday was 1p and during TBBW (Coconut, Chilis, Cinnamon) (I think? Ive had a it a few times now) $25
    Bottle count was like 375-400
Pallet 1 was 1 case per person (Coffee Cinnamon) $25
    Bottle count was like 375-400

I traded a Thursday for a Double Date because he is a friend, I already had a DD or I would've just kept it in my cellar along with the other two. My best advice is when a bottle drops, if you have more of it, trade it as fast as you can before the values and opinions catch up to it because before all that, its just riding on exclusivity.

They had & + on draft at the Nooner8 release, along side a few other variants to test the waters for which one to make next. Then, when TBBW came around, that was the Thursday bottle because everybody wanted it so badly on Nooner8 day. Doug set an easy marketing trap.

Taste wise, there is no comparison. Two different flavors. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday trade for more because you had to get there 3 hours beforehand to even get one or two or three or four. Monday was a big batch that caused a lot of car accidents from people driving so fast to get there and it lasted until like 5pm. Friday was supposed to be Pegs only and then, if you were smart enough to go to the brewery, they had them for sale, then you went to Pegs with your ticket and got one or two more, I cant remember. I had a bunch of Monday, Thursday and Friday though, by the end of it.

Is there a "dislike" button anywhere on here? I'm sure you meant well, but damn man, do you have any sense of how this reads? Or do you just not give a fuck how you're perceived?

&+ Was on draft at the Nooner 6 release and sporadically at times after that. Just to clear that bit up, I wouldn't call it a "marketing trap". Honestly I don't think Doug even contemplates marketing; he just brews great beer and sporadically bottles what he wants.

You guys, what? How was I offensive, sorry about the coconut typo? Are we upset because I planned ahead and got a lot of bottles? Im confused? I asked Doug about the Thursday release, he said it had a great review over the Nooner8 release. I only jumped in the game at the DCB release and from there on with Cycle.

Pretty sure this is what makes you look bad:

That quote is just in poor taste and is everything that's wrong with beer trading today. People are more worried about dollar value and winning trades instead of just enjoying/sharing my awesome beer for your awesome beer. Now, this might not be what you meant when you wrote that, but it's just how it came across to me.

I mean, I guess you can take it that way even though my first sentence is about friendship. Im just being real you guys, sorry. Whenever a bottle drops, there is a flood of ISO:FT's and everyone always asks for Prop, VR, Assassin, KBBS, Framboos, Derivation, Cycle, Broken Truck or deGarde things. You have a better chance of landing Thursday or Tuesday with new releases rather than 4:1, trading later on.

Most of you have probably met me or seen me, I always have a red beagle with me and usually my girlfriend, don't be a stranger. There have been quite a few guys on here that I've met and traded with and I haven't rubbed anyone the wrong way in person, Im pretty nonchalant.

@floridadrift is a good dude. I have become friends with him and he has gotten released beers for me when I couldn't make it, always down to open good beer and have good conversation. Whatever was said was taken out of context as he is a good guy.

No offense taken, was just clarifying about Thursday's history but I must admit the phrase "marketing trap" in reference to Doug/Cycle I found funny.

i've hung with him a few times in line at cycle. he's a good dude, but just comes across incorrectly sometimes here on BA.

yeah, they are different barrels from what i have heard. but i'm as big a &+ fanboy as there is, and unless you're drinking &+ and Thursday back to back, you'd be hard pressed to know which is which.

and yeah... i think doug spends about 3 minutes a year thinking about marketing lol
