I used to drink torpedo all the time and it has been my go to "grocery store ipa" until hop Hunter came out. Haven't had it in almost a year. Saw some fresh about 3 weeks old and it tastes totally different. Very malty(?) to say the least. Seems like a different hop profile to me too it dosent seem as zesty. Even the color looks alot more amber than I remember. Has my palate just changed or have you guys also noticed a difference in torpedo in the last few months? @sierranevadabill

Agreed. Hop Hunter is much more dry and bitter. Torpedo has always been on the malty side when compared to modern IPAs. I still enjoy Torpedo over Hop Hunter

Torpedo is my "house beer" and it hasn't changed for me. Just the packaging.

Broken record here, definitely your palate shifting; especially after not having it for a year and then going heavy on the Hop Hunter for as long as you have

Palates change, but beer recipes and quality or use of ingredients do too.

I say ^that^ because it might not be the case in this particular situation, but I know for a fact beers such as DirtWolf and Lagunitas Sucks have changed over the past couple of years. No doubt about it. They simply no longer have that B.O. note I grew to love. It's completely gone and it's not from my palate changing.

No Change IMO, your palate most likely changed especially if you have not had it in a year

Recipes change much less frequently than people claim they change. Besides most brewers state publicly if they change a recipe.
Victory Dirtwolf was released in October 2013, and not even 2 years old yet, which is problematic for your claim that it changed "over the past couple of years" technically speaking, but more importantly Dirtwolf has been a very popular beer that Victory would have no reason to change the recipe so soon. I think the difference is you, but you can believe whatever you want.

I also know a brewery who changed their recipe and didn't state it publicly, but I'm not going to call them out on it for the sake of this discussion.

I was being sarcastic as there are only 3 grocery store locations in my entire county that are allowed to sell beer.

There are beer and wine stores, but unfortuantely I don't have the convenience of grabbing a sixer while grocery shopping.

Large breweries aren't constantly changing massively popular flagship recipes like I see people suggest on this site every day. Your tastebuds and your preferences aren't static. The that way your senses perceive a certain compound can change over time.
