Living in Milwaukee I wouldn't say that I am floored by any local shelf IPA/APA beers...though lately I have been floored by Union Jack and Jai Alai, which I believe are shelf beers in their respective markets. Anything else I should be looking to trade for that aren't super hard to get? What are your favorite "shelf beers"?

I think Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA is fantastic. Would be easy to get, if not already available in Milwaukee. Ballast Point Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin are excellent.

Sculpin, Alesmith, Stone IPA, Union Jack, Fresh Squeezed, Two Hearted, Great Divide Titan, Hop Hunter, Torpedo, Anderson Valley Hop Ottin...and I'm sure I'm forgetting some. So many good IPAs out there, its hard to really go wrong.

If I lived in Ohio I would've poisoned myself by now with Mystic Mama and White Rajah.

My favorite Shelf IPA when it hits would be Another One from Maine Beer Company.

Revolution Anti-Hero is a go-to in Chicago and at pretty much any place with a liquor license.

Spiteful IPA is awesome, unfortunately it's only in Chicago city distribution - but if your in the city, snag this.

Besides the local stuff - Sculpin, Union Jack, Lagunitas IPA, Centennial IPA are all over and all great IPA's.

If you haven't had it, you should try to get Flying Fish Exit 16 from NJ.

Schlafly American IPA (AIPA) and Schlafly Tasmanian IPA (TIPA) Each is available for a limited period each year. AIPA is March-August and TIPA is October-February. TIPA is my favorite, and possibly favorite IPA period. Can't go wrong with the AIPA either though.

Even with their limited availability each year, if from the St. Louis region, you can find them in just about any grocery or liquor store.

Damn, good call on the White Rajah. I always forget about this one. So many good beers in this area and I'm constantly looking for the rare ones.

We've gotten luck in Ohio with the great IPAs, Rhinegeist Truth and Zen are also great, Mystic Mama defines the style, Head Hunter is solid, Columbus IPA is another great go-to. It's a taproom only, but I love For Pete's Sake from Taft Ale House in Cincinnati, probably the only beer that could beat Mystic Mama, but it's close.

Even though the brewery calls it a Pale, my vote goes to Bale Breaker Field 41. Big hop flavors from a 4.5%abv, 12oz can.

If we can expand the discussion to just Hoppy Beers vs. IPA specifically I would highly recommend fresh Victory DirtWolf.

    Cheers!

Also agree with @beertunes on Field 41. Bale Breaker does also have Topcutter, which is their IPA. I personally prefer Field 41, but everyone out here raves on Topcutter too.
