Okay I love Cycle. Crank is the best IPA made in the southeast in my opinion, their barrel aged beers are incredible, and their other beers are usually great as well. This is why it pains me that they are so piss poor at communicating with their customers. It's 2015, posting strange pictures to Facebook as your only form of online communication is pretty weak.

I'm sure there are many other breweries that don't have a website or Twitter presence. But Cycle puts out such great stuff, I just wish their online involvement represented that. If I'm in the northeast I can go to Hill Farmstead or Treehouse's site and know whats on tap and bottles at that moment. I know they beat to their own drum and thats great, I don't even mind that they are cash only. Just let me know what's on tap before I drive over.

Their drafts are usually the same beers for the most part. You could always call them. They do post on instagram as well as facebook. They do their bottle releases the way they do so lines don't block the neighboring businesses all day.

I check Facebook, and if there isn't a current photo of the tap list, I'll call.

Their communication could be better, but they probably just don't have the manpower to constantly update a site.

Hell, CCBs to go bottle list is rarely 100% accurate, and they're about 1000% larger than cycle.

I agree that all bars and breweries should have an available draft list with todays technologies but stoners are holding us back man. Procrastiweed. But, Cycle's beers are usually pretty standard on tap, expect, big juicy, IPAs and a Cream & Sugar Please or that baseball lager. They love when you share a bottle too, so bring one and guarantee yourself good time with one of their beers on the side. I do this at a lot of breweries and even bars. Stop by Angry Chair too and grab something made f cking perfectly, just in case.

Had a problem with Swamphead's website. Saw where they now had Big Nose in the cooler plus on tap. Drove 122 miles round trip and was told it was pulled out of cooler and there was none currently on tap. Wrote to complain (as trip was on Saturday). Reply from their marketing man stated he was sorry and he would correct website. Website never changed and that was two weeks ago.

This always seems to get hung on Cycle, but no one ever mentions Rapp, and others, do the same thing. Rapp maintains a website, but the page for what's on tap refers you to their Facebook page. One could argue that at least Rapp has 20 taps to maintain, but I think the point is that snapping a picture and blasting it to social media pages is the fastest way to get your tap list, at a point in time, out there.

None of the places I know rely on social media (including Angry Chair, Three Palms, Darwin's, JDubs, etc.) have a POS that is being used, or even can be used, to update a web presence real time. So that would potentially be the only way that may be just as fast for these small businesses.

I've never done this before just because I feel like it would be very awkward unless you actually know the people pretty well.

"Hey, you don't know me, but I brought this beer for us to drink." Is that how it goes down? I would like to know.

Craft Beer Cellar uses beermenus.com, and it works well. CBC has 12 taps. The base site, I have been told, is free, and, for a fee, more info can be added.

Yeah, I dont get why ANY brewery wouldnt at the very least, post a screenshot of the taplist once a day on social media. It takes about 30 seconds to snap and upload a pic from a smartphone.

I also dont get how every brewery doesnt have at least a bare bones website with hours and location info (address, map, etc), and a link to the social media site(s) that has the taplist pic. Thats all you really need, and again, it takes about 30 seconds a day to update.

Big Nose is so good.. Hated that my brother and sister in law moved from Gainesville. We would kill a gallon of it in a day between the two of us!

Sorry you didn't have any luck with it.

Just ask them if it's alright if we get a couple rounds and crack open a bottle and share it with them. When I go there non-release, its night time, so it's very low-key. This goes for anywhere.

There's something similiar to this in Virginia called Trinkin. Not an app per se but you can save the link to your smartphone homescreen, it has an icon just as an app would and when you open it goes straight to where you can see the various places around to view their taplist. Even shows how recently the venue updated their listings. You can also search for specific beers to see where they can be found on tap or in bottle/cans. Pretty sweet.

This place arguably brews some of the best beer in the world. Not sure why we would bitch about their communication skills. Frequent the place and you'll know what's going on. Personally, I'm just happy they are local. If you want great communication, head over to 3 Daughters. They have a department for that. I believe they are having a trivia, keep the glass, karaoke, buy one get one growler, ladies night tonight...
