I'm trying to score some Heady by offering Parabola and/or Conflux. I don't want to have unrealistic expectations, can anybody chime in as to what is fair? Any help would be appreciated...
You shouldn't have to do anything more than $4$ for locals. It's just a matter of finding the right person.
But what about shipping costs? If someone were to send me 6 cans of Heady for a Parabola, wouldn't the shipping be considerably more for him? May be a dumb question...but like I said, I don't want to be presumptious.
I would say Parabola with Conflux is valued around two sixers of HT. The beer is actually available to a few really active and generous traders. No reason to go way over $4$ on that. Isn't HT ~$12-15/sixer? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Throw in a couple of cool extras and for the love of god don't start worrying about shipping costs in your trades... It is not worth it. Sometimes Fedex costs more than expected, sometimes you get a surprise. Recently, I shipped two boxes (1x 250 miles to Oregon, 1x 3000 miles to Maine) and both cost me the same. Oregon took 2x days, Maine took 8. Both cost the same within a dollar; and actually, the Maine box weighed more. Don't sweat the small stuff. Instead, worry about secure packaging and hooking up your target. You will sleep better at night. Welcome to the club... Toby.
Heady is cans aka cheap to ship. Also.....weight means nearly nothing in shipping. The origin charge of shipping a box of air is most of the cost .
Parabola is like 15-18, Conflux is like 10-11. Heady is in 4 packs and around 13+. With shipping 2 four packs are pretty even.
They would probably be independent so I'm assuming 5:1 for Parabola or 3:1 for Conflux...ok, just wanted to have a starting point.
I have been in plenty of trades where one side is sending more bottles or ounces than the other. I have never tried to, or been asked to, factor shipping costs into the trade. The cost of a few extra pounds isn't going to raise the shipping cost substantially.
The only time it's worth considering shipping is when you are trading an enormously lopsided amount of beer. For example, a case of a beer for one bottle. Or, 4-6 growlers for a bottle or two.
