I don't trade. Not really opposed to it... I even started getting into once but only made it as far as seeing how much the shipping costs would be and said fuck that. My beer budget doesn't need the extra damage.

Haven't even had my first yet but luckily I just found a bottle of saint lamvinus. Waiting to try it next weekend with some friends because I'm such a good friend. I've also never had pliny as well as many other rare classics. However I've never traded and don't try very hard to find them.

Crap, I haven't acquired a taste for anything sour yet at all. I've tried several of them, they were all terrible. Alas :slight_frown:

I would love to know the exact pronunciation of "Cantillon". I've heard 3 different pronunciations and I don't want to sound like a fool if I find myself in Belgium.

I was drinking micros in the '80s.

Then in the '90s and well into the '00s, I couldn't afford to drink well anymore, and immersed myself in the macros. I liked Pabst and Schlitz the most, and Bud the least. Bud products give me headaches in ways that other macros don't. Go figure.

Four or five years ago I quit smoking, which I'd been doing for many years, and soon realized that each day more than eight extra dollars were burning holes in my pocket. I figured I should stop thinking I could only afford to drink Pabst and Schlitz, and put the money I'd formerly spent on cigarettes into better beer.

So I've been into drinking better beer forever, but only got back into actually doing it four or five years ago. And there's so much more better beer now. Praise be.

I mostly like that it's not a huge chore to find beers I have not yet tried.

I have never really bought into the German or Belgian styles like some of the less noob-like BA's. I still like American porters, stouts, etc. Never had anything from 3 Floyds, Hunaphu, or Russian River. And sure as hell don't understand the lingo on the trades pages.

I see what some of these doods are posting up as their pcitures for tasting events and I'm like "holy shit!" Mine aren't near that elaborate. I have never posted one because of it

I don't like bourbon barrel aged beers that've tried even though I like bourbon. I got some knob creek, eagle rare 10 year, and for cheap jim beam black in my house

Except for Pliny which is about $5.00 a pop when i can find it I've never had the others. Nor would I go out of my way for trading for any of these especially at what is usually asked! Fkcut that Isht! I would rather drink lots of affordable local stuff from breweries like Russian River, Stone, Firestone, etc, etc, etc, etc!!

I drain poured Parabola and thought Westy 12 was pretty mediocre. Also, there aren't any trappist beers that I'm crazy about. My favorite is Westmalle dubbel.

I've been drinking better beer for the better part of 10 years and haven't touched a macro beer for that long, but I've recently had a itch to try some Genny Cream ale. It was one of my favorites back in the day.

And as much as I've tried, I can't get more than a taste of a porter or stout past my teeth. I just don't care for the style.

When I'm at the store and ask about a certain beer, I realize just how many beer names I don't know how to properly pronounce.

Even to this day, I can never remember how to pronounce Cantillon.
