It all started here. Circa 1991 for me. Still go back to this classic for reference. Have sent this book via Amazon to maybe 15 friends over the years. Rdwhahb is not only a great Charlie line -- but a way of life!!!

These are the ones I keep at arm's reach, so they must be my favorites or something:slight_smile:-

I've moved 8 times in five years, largely due to work. I don't do books because they're heavy and a pain. However, I own (own, not just downloaded) digital copies of How to Brew, Designing Great Beers, Brewing Classic Styles, Jamil's Yeast book, The Craft of Stone Brewing, and a few others.

In case you didn't know, there's a Smoked Beers book in that "Classic Beer Style Series."

Matches my mental image almost exactly. Although I always figured there would be a row of file cabinets next to the bookcase.

I think there are 15 in the series, and those are all in the bookcase.

I went up and looked, there are 18 in the series. I'm missing 16, the Second Ed. Of "Pale Ale" by Foster ( I have the first edition).

Do you mean your bookcase or @jesskidden 's? I was referring to @TongoRad 's pic with the 4. Smoked Beer happens to be #18. Saved the best for last?

Thanks. I haven't really been following the series since my family made me go on a homebrewing sabbatical, but they are generally good books to read anyway.

I've got a 3' pile by my reading chair and a floor to ceiling book shelf in my office that includes most of the classkc beer styles series, and everything I could scounge up by Randy Mosher, Michael Jackson, Roger Protz, Daniels, Palmer, etc. and I am on my 3rd copy of Charlie Papazian. I've got stuff from the late 70s when I was homebrewing hidden away somewhere. I would show pictures but I need to get my grandson to show me how to do that. He said he would if I would let him make a fort out of the books.

Along w the complete joy -- Michael J's pocket guide first published in 1986 was the original source of my beer training. Long before the Internet -- the 8 point font packed this book w info on all the key breweries across the globe. Totally obsolete now -- and a real hoot to read some of the early descriptions of my locals -- Mass Bay brewing (Harpoon) and of Sam Adams --the Beer Hunter showers compliments on the pioneer craft brewer....."it's new Boston Stock Ale achieves a remarkable balance between its big firm malty body and its powerful goldings hops character". Love MJ. Love this book!
