Yeah it's a solid resource for someone like me who lives pretty far from any decent bottle shop. It's really hit or miss, and the markup on the loons is pretty outrageous. I've also been sent old IPAs, but my options are limited. I figure most of the locals have better options available.

 

If my daughter is born by 11:59PM EST on Thursday, @NickyPogs will win my baby LIF. He was correct in all but one of the categories of the All-Star game portion (he missed the position of the MVP). Now we wait....

Holy god! $100 for Mamouche?!? $50 for Gueuze isn't TOO outrageous (only like $20 more than it should be) but that's like a $60 markup on Mamouche... ridiculous.

 

Yeah they sell Lou Pepes and Fou from $75 to $100 each whenever they have them in stock. Not including shipping. I unsubscribed from Gary's emails a long long time ago...

 

Given the "trade value" $75 for Fou woudn't be too far off, but is still more than I'm paying. I'll set up international trades and feel good about getting a European some US beer they wouldn't have otherwise gotten to try before I do that.

 

Maybe they figure that since Mamouche isn't being produced this year, they can mark it up. BTW....

Decided to change up the doggy DNA LIF a bit. I will now being giving some hints periodically. Everyone can post new guesses after a new hint. After the final hint I will look at everyone’s final guess (probably will run until Friday afternoon) and the #correct will give you 1 slot in a random lottery. 3 correct = 3 entries, etc.

Hint: 2 correct breeds have been guessed so far.

 

Does that mean that 5 correct = 5 entries, or is there still a win condition for first to get all 5 right? (doesn't matter a lick to me, just curious)

I just won't pay that much for any bottle of beer. Period. I got LPK off the "shelf" in Denver last month for $32.99. Fou was retailing for the same price when it hit town at the same time. This guy is asking for 2X-3X that price. Plus shipping. That's a ridiculous markup.

 

Sweet, if you could get me one of each that would be great. What do you want in return: beer, money, or "favors"? And no rush to get them to me at all.

Totally agree, I'm just saying if someone is willing to trade $75 worth of beer for a Fou, then selling it at that price as a retailer is not as horribly out of line as it sounds. I personally wouldn't be a customer at that price either, and shit like that does make me angry to see, but in a Devil's Advocate way, I understand it.
