This is my second year in the barrel society, which I have really enjoyed. I was also sad to see sour futures disappear. That being said I also wish it didn't grow to the size it is. Part of being in a barrel society is to get the limited batches brewed by the brewery. It appears that the limited night shift batches are more brewery only releases. I live in CT, so brewery only releases are just by luck if I am stopping by. 600 memberships of 1-5 bottles, is a lot of bottles. 10 barrels or 500 gallons of beer is a lot of beer. It would be nice to see less memberships, and instead of 7 different beers the ability to get 14 different beers.

If you make a super-secret barrel society membership for these limited batches I'm in.

I was a member in 2013 and 2014, and a member of the Sour Futures in 2014. I've loved their beers, but the trip down and back became too much of a pain in the ass, so I didn't sign up for 2015,

Just a heads up, there are about 50 people in line right now for the BA El Lechedor release.

Thank you for the heads up! I guess I'll double check to see if any are bottles left before decide I head over there after work.

No frigging way really? So what is it, like 100 people or so will get bottles with a 2 pp limit?

My friend just told me that he got his 2 bottles, but that it will probably all be gone by the time they get through the current line.

Can't get a head count but it seems unlikely it will last the initial rush. You maybe able to try it on draft if it isn't kicked tho. Maybe call or check their Twitter before heading over.

Bottles are sold out. They only lasted 30 minutes. We do still have it on draft if people would like to savor a glass of it. It's tasting pretty awesome even on this muggy day. Cheers.

We are planning on making 40-60bbls worth of Lechedor this winter so we will have lots of the regular barrel version. The apple brandy version we just need to source more oak for that. They aren't as readily available so can't make any promises there. But its high on the list to remake. Cheers.

If you haven't tried Stafford yet you should also give that one a whirl. I regretted not bringing my growler once I had it again, maybe my favorite beer from them.

Shame it wasn't one bottle per person so that twice the number of people could get it.. *sigh*

I've been eye balling my Hogarth bottle thinking it's time to knock it down. Your post may push me over the top.

p.s. If you Guys could do the BA Lechedor next year for the barrel society I'd be really happy.

Darkling was one of my favorite beers last year (and perhaps one of my all time favorite stouts as well). I certainly drank my share of it at the brewery while it was out and took care of my bottle solo a few months ago. Excited to hear about that one coming. Cheers to the excellent stouts and porters!

As such, I am also really looking forward to Caravaggio and happy that this one is a Barrel Society beer since having to work for a living until 4:30/5:00 weekdays pretty much excludes me from ever seeing bottles of a limited release that drops at noon. Just the nature of the game, but it does make me happy to see the brewery thriving in their new space.

Finally got around to opening my bottle of picasso, and I have to say I'm pretty pissed right off the bat because 70% of the beer came gushing out and is now all over my counter and floor. The beer itself is pretty meh, but I'm more disappointed by the fact that I couldn't even get a full glass out of what was left.

I hated mine when I had it on draft and promptly traded it to someone who really wanted it (I warned them too!)

For those looking for some funky oak aged beers that are not part of the Barrel Society, we are releasing the next beer in our Funk'd Series. Today we release Funk'd Ella and Funk'd Nelson. They are both 100% brett fermented and aged in oak. We then split the batch and dry hopped them with different southern hemisphere hop goodness. 500 bottles of each version for sale today at noon. 4 bottles total per person. Cheers!
