I'm scratching my head a little bit about how OH is promoting their deal with Daughters Fare and Ale on their FB page, when they went after Bushwick Fine Fare so hard.

Daughters is selling cans at $24/four pack. BFF sold them for $25/four pack.

I thought OH was pissed about the ridiculous markup, but it seems like it's just about the "official-ness" of it now?

I agree. If they start to do distribute cans and cant get the price lower than $24 I think these will sit on shelves. That is an insane price for a 4 pack.

It is but honestly I was paying 8$/can for OH superfun at blind tiger and sWINE when that was out, so people are still going to pay it. If they're not going to pay it that's fine more for me I guess, hope it don't sit though, mayve they'll change the price if it's not selling , I just think it's worth it to avoid having to park my car in Brooklyn personally.

It is about the officialness of it. BFFM was illegally selling beer and willing to ship it across state lines.

OH has zero control over what a store or bar charges for their beer. When the V-Love bottles hit stores, the prices were all over the map. Some stores had a 100% markup on the bottles. I know a bar charging $7 for an 8 oz pour of Hop Showers.

Does anyone know what Hoptron Brewtique in Patchogue, NY is charging for their Nelson and GD cans?

Other Half complained about how "Bushwick Finefare illegally sells our beer and sells it for a HUGE markup" in their own Facebook post. Was it that $1 extra dollar that makes it a "HUGE markup" compared to being sold for 50% over retail?

I don't particularly care about the legality of it, and the "it's illegal!!" handwringing on a website with a section dedicated to illegally shipping beer and advice on how to lie on customs forms when traveling with/shipping beer internationally is a little overwrought. At the end of the day, people are still going to be shut out at OH when cans are being sold elsewhere at 50% markup.

edit to point out this bit from the FB post, in their own words:

I think it's a little aggressive to make generalizations about markups, especially since we have no idea how much Other Half is selling the cans for to the store.

At the end of the day, people who live several hours from the brewery will have an opportunity to drink some great beer, and Other Half will have an opportunity to expand their brand. Seems like a win win.

Quick Edit (for full disclosure): I'm actually driving home to Albany Saturday morning for some golf with the old man, so it works out perfectly that this place is right off the TSP.

Noticed that The Jeffrey just tapped Still G.R.E.E.N. IPA and that's also set to be sent up to Row 34(awesome) in Boston for an event. Anyone have info on Still G.R.E.E.N.?

Looking at the comments on OH's Instagram post about the event in Boston- Trillium commented "let's get together while you're in town."

    OH / Trillium collab?!

Does OH fill growlers from other breweries?

Yes, but they must be the standard screw top growlers with a 1.125" opening. They use a counter pressure system so your growler has to have that kind of threading.

http://www.otherhalfbrewing.com/info#hello - scroll down a little for growler info.

Thanks for the heads up. Taking the F was a real pain in the ass last time I went, I was hoping it got better since then but apparently it hasn't.

It's probably way less. I'm a terrible estimator. The line is stretching to the end of the block but everyone has umbrellas which makes it tough to get a good number.
