I know my opinion is a bit harsh but I really despise that beer. Most people really like it though, give it a shot. I really enjoyed ruination 1.0 and 2.0, stophacisity grapefruit, and regular stone ipa

It's interesting; to me, almost everything Stone brews that isn't hop-forward is really good to incredible, but they seem to be moving further away from non-aggressive beer. Keep on their seasonals and Stochasticity brews if nothing else.

Disclaimer: I am not a hop head. There. I got that out of the way. Okay... Stone's non-hopbombs are quite good - especially their stouts and their barrel aged beers. Examples: Russian Imperial Stout (and all it's variations), w00tstout, Xicoveza...

Their newer offerings don't really rock my boat (esp. Ruination 2.0), but the originals (IPA, Enjoy By, RIS, Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Arrogant Bastard) are still splendid.

The new mixed 12er is great. Enjoy By's of the last 12 calendar years are way down. RIS is very affordable and I like it a lot. Ruin Ten 2.0 is pretty much like 1.0 and I liked both. Overall I like them. Their customer service and people are top notch.

I've been over Stone ever since Greg had to be a major ass and pull the BS he did with an upstart brewery in Boulder. Then after his "legal" bs, he then wants to kiss and make up with them? Nope; I'm done with Stone. Too many better brews out there (locally even) so kiss off Greg/Stone.

    *end of rant*

Maybe you should get over the fact that legal disputes are part of business.

    I meant 'stochasticity'
I know some people on this site get bent over misspelled words.

If it was legit, yes. If the owners of said brewery would've had enough money, they would've won in court per several lawyers. But what new small brewery has $30-$40k and three years? And Greg the ass wants to make a joke about legalities when he's part of it? He's an ass. And he can't take any kind of criticism as he had some posts on Stone's Facebook page deleted, even when said criticism was actually civil.

And Stone doesn't make all that special of brews; I can get better stuff locally (and I do). So again, F Greg and Stone.

They are one of my favorites. .... They notice the people are responding and instead of being a one in done, they bring it back next year. They notice a beer has been sitting on shelves to long, the either pull it make a 2.0 and get people interested again. 4 packs aren't working, let's go back to 6 packs and keep the price reasonable. They listen better than as NY brewers about what we want. I'm glad they are growing.

Classic IPA, though good, is not one of my go-to. Arrogant Bastard is, and has been for years. Enjoy By is one of my favorite readily available DIPAs out there. Their IRS is top notch (I've yet to try the Chai - I've a couple on the shelf, but I've had a lot of hoppy stuff to work through). I like their Ruination 2.0, although not as much as the original. And I think their Go To is one of the better session IPAs out there, although I don't find it priced in a manner that I'd session it. I was less happy about, say, their elimination of SSR, and the Stochasticity beers have not always done something for me (Master Of Disguise, I'm look at you), but overall, the Stone line is something I drop money on regularly, and I am rarely disappointed.

Personally I love Stone. They are and always have been one of my favorite breweries. Arrogant Bastard, and Ruination where two of the brews that truly made me fall in love with beer. They are always trying new things and are never afraid to take chances which is great. However I am ever so slightly disenchanted, I really am not a huge fan of Ruination 2.0, it's a good beer but I preferred the original and will miss it greatly. Also while I can see how it would be an interesting idea I am skeptical of them allowing other breweries to brew Arrogant Bastard. Call me biased but the idea of people messing with their flagship beer somewhat frightens me.

Absolutely man, I get shit on for it all the time but I think Stone beers are overrated and don't deserve praise just for "OG" status.

For the first 4 years of my beer journey, Stone has been one of my least favorite breweries. I'm really starting to favor them now in some of the new offerings I've had that I liked (Enjoy By, Pale Ale 2.0, Ruination 2.0, Xocevaca, Master of Disguise). So I went back just last week to revisit Arrogant Bastard which I hadn't had for a few years and disliked previously. It was on sale for $4 a bomber and thinking my pallent has come around to Stone hop flavors. Well no, the Arrogant Bastard still tasted overly harsh and medicinally bitter just like my sampling years ago so its not my pallet changing much. Therefore I think they must just be changing they flavor profiles in recent brew offerings and for the better IMO.
