    Rare day off. Tackling my culinary-based hobbies with gusto today. I'll be starting a batch of homebrew shortly. An IPA with all Centennial hops. While brewing, I will be firing up the smoker and smoking a bone-in pork butt. It's been sitting in the fridge overnight with my rub on it. But for breakfast, I'm getting into some of the home-cured salmon I made this week (easy recipe, hit me up if you want it), with a little hard boiled egg and avocado. All of this is paired with a can Brooklyn Summer Ale. Peace!

    Yesterday was fun - perhaps today will be just as energized! To start this morning, an oldie but a goodie - Dogfish Head's "World Wide Stout":

    Bottled 12/11/13 and purchased 1/18/14, with an ABV of 18%

    Aging nicely. Plums and chocolate nose. Boozy figs, plums and bittersweet dark chocolate covered fruit (cherries and blueberries). Smooth with luscious fruit tongue coating. Chocolate and booze linger. Outstanding.

    Drink well this Saturday my friends. Cheers!

    Good morning BAs! Back to our typical overcast days here in NW PA. Definitely taking one for the team here - tried one recommended by some new guy at the distributor's - said everybody likes it better than Leinenkugel's shandy:

    It smells deliciously like grapefruit and that's pretty much it. Oily, fizzy, disgusting taste of ? Some diacetyl, DMS, or even skunk-based mercaptans would be a welcome addition. One of the three worst beers I've ever consumed. Traded a bottle of Hop Devil for it and definitely got screwed!
