Well being as how Eureka was a collaborator and they have restaurants here, just thought/wondered/hoped they would have spread the love.

Ha ha, if there's one constant about Fundamental, it's that none of it made sense. Not even the fact that the collaborator/provider of the barrels go essentially a keg per couple of locations and a half dozen or so cases of the beer.

All signs show that no one wanted to really back this beer up. Eureka could have easily done a Taps/El Cerrito and been the exclusive place to buy it outside of the brewery. Would have really put them on the map beer wise.

Yeah, I've had a few issues with Eureka over the past couple years, but they are probably the best option in Bakersfield for most craft tap lines. Can't agree more with your statement that this would put them on a "whole nother level".

Definitely didn't kick on Tuesday. Checking my untappd, I had it on tap on Thursday for sure, so not sure why the bartender's saying that (maybe he meant bottles).

I called on sunday and waitress claimed they still had it, apologies if that was bad intel.

I had multiple discussions with Bottle Logic on this beer and how distribution would be handles. We both decided that the best thing to do for the craft beer community would be to spread the wealth all throughout Bottle Logics immediate distribution territory to reward the people that have supported the brewery the most over the time they have been open.

Yes we could have been selfish and asked for exclusive rights to this beer but we didn't feel this was fair to Bottle Logic or the craft beer community. I believe that the craft beer community is about just that "community" and sharing with that community. A very limited amount of this beer was kegged and we did receive exclusive rights to kegs which we tapped at 6 of our locations (Redlands, Claremont, Irvine, Huntington Beach, Santa Barbara and San Diego). We have 2 additional kegs that have not been tapped. 1 keg we are tapping in Indian Wells on August 14th for their anniversary party and are holding onto the second keg for a rainy day/special occasion, so you will definitely see this beer on tap at another Eureka. I am sorry we couldn't get this beer to all the Eureka's in CA.

We are extremely proud and happy to have worked with such a great brewery such as Bottle Logic on this beer by providing barrels for this project. We acquire lots of barrels throughout the year so this is not the last collaboration you will see from us. We have also done other collaborations to date with Mission (Four Roses BA Dark Seas), King Harbor (SH!FT 1 Imperial Brown) and Libertine (The Figster). So although this specific collaboration may not have reached a Eureka near you it does not mean another collaboration won't.

We appreciate the support of the craft beer community and really take everyone's comments and concerns seriously. Thank you again

Apologies for the thread-jack ... but is there anywhere I can find your tap list? Specifically the Irvine location? Can't seem to find it anywhere.

Does it bother anyone else that they are calling this a collab when all they did was help provide barrels? To me a collab is two brewers from different companies getting together and actually working on a recipe together.

This is just a company providing barrels and in return, getting some exclusive rights to kegs. That's fine and I'm sure more deals like this are done but call it what it is, which is not a collab.

I think what bothered people the most, were the people who bragged about taking mules and getting cases of this wael bruh...

Well, securing the barrels in which to age this in is a pretty important task. Though, honestly, it wouldn't have been selfish at all if outside of the brewery, Eureka was the only place to sell bottles. I mean, did having it become 44 cases of truck chasing at total wines and creating a shit show in that in itself build more of a community? It seems that Bottle Logic really was concerned about sitting on this beer like they had with Darkstar before they put that out into distro and Ideation, which I believe they still have bottles of. So they just popped these off to the shops/accounts prematurely when if they held on to those 44 cases that went out into the wild and just sold them in house or at Eureka, they would have still sold out fast.

We were involved in all aspects of the brewing process and barrel aging. While we admit that Bottle Logic brewers are the experts here, we definitely had say on all aspects of how this beer was constructed.
