Since everyone's been talking overrated and negativity, let's talk about who's flying under the radar with great beers. Personally my most underrated is Sweetwater. I absolutely love their IPA, 420, and Hop Hash DIPA. Also a huge fan on Blue in the summers.

I think Lakefront is pretty underrated. They aren't mind blowing beers, but most are solid; and even people who live in WI forget they exist.

Short's and Odd Side in Michigan. They're both reasonably popular, especially Short's, but everyone seems to just focus on Bell's, Founders, Dark Horse, and even (for some reason) Griffin Claw.

They are starting to get more recognition but Jack's Abby in Massachusetts puts out really good beers. I feel like they get overshadowed by the hype around treehouse and trillium.

With all the (deserved) hype that Other Half gets, Singlecut puts out equally amazing beers and flies completely under the radar comparatively.

Gotta double up on Lakefront and Dark Horse.

I wish Tallgrass got a little more love.

My vote goes to Left Hand.
If anyone does mention them its about their milk stout, which don't get me wrong (much prefer the regular to the nitro) but they have an entire line up of great beers that I feel gets over looked. And the fact that they mainly stick to English style ales definitely earns my respect. They recently shipped on the session ipa bandwagon but hey, no ones perfect

I think Lost Nation gets overshadowed in VT by the big boy IPA's. They put out some great beers especially The Wind, Gose, and Mosaic IPA.

Love both of those breweries. Two of my favorites.

Definitely agree on tallgrass, buffalo sweat is awesome. I'd have to add boulevard their whole smokestack series is great.

Jack's Abby is not underrated in the least. They are surrounded by hype. I'm racking my brains. I'm thinking two breweries that I like that I don't see threads often here are Uinta and 21st Amendment. Both solid and CANS!

Bare Hands Brewery is, in my opinon, one of the best Indiana has to offer.

This thread could just as reasonably be named "Name a local brewery you love that only locals know about", considering the array of responses we've seen.

Although they may be a little too limited for nomination - Jackie O's - Athens Ohio

Uinta comes to mind...all of their beers are solid. Hop Nosh is rated very well, but underrated imo as far as a single beer goes.

    I'll offer a Canadian brewery:

    Yukon Brewing

Great beer. They brew lots of different styles and they are always good, if not great.

My vote will go to BJs then; being that they are known throughout the west coast. The "Committed IPA" is a contender for my favorite new beer this year. Hope is comes around again next year.

Not really underrated so much, but Craftsman Brewing in Pasadena, CA makes some damn good beer. It is unfortunate that they do not bottle or can anything, but I love their stuff.

Tallgrass is very deserving (Ethos as well as Buffalo Sweat), and I'll throw out Mother's in Springfield, MO as well. MILF is amazing.

Agree Jack's Abby isn't underrated, because they are well regarded. Wormtown though, really is even better than it gets credit for.

Tallgrass for sure. 8-Bit Pale Ale is my favorite, Daisy Cutter and Dale's can sit down.

Most midwest coast best coast breweries don't get a whole lotta love, but there some fantastic ones there. kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Iowa have their gems.
