As a Midwest Beer Advocate, I would like to take this time to extend my utmost gratitude to Founders Brewing Company. In a region that sees its share of quality brews, none have been as consistently delicious and readily available than those brewed by Founders.

Their business model of multiple packed beers vs. a flood of bombers is one of the reasons why I hold Founders in such high regard. They're versatile and distribute so many nice 4 and 6 pack brews. Of their releases, 17 beers are put into packs.

At any point in the year, I can find a solid Founders brew on shelves. Their combination of quality, availability, variety, and quantity can't be matched in my opinion.

They also respond to comments on social media and interact with their customer base. All around a fantastic establishment.

    Thank you Founders

Solid Brewery. Love RIS and BS. Good IPA's. The Backstage series has seriously taken a down turn but other than that I remain a fan.

My two favorite breweries are Founders and Three Floyds. There is no third.

Like them for the malty ales (most of which are stellar) - but they are shit at pales. They keep it fairly safe in terms of styles they brew, despite liberal use of adjuncts in their backstage(door) series, most of which were pretty crappy.

One thumb up and one down. No longer a frontrunner IMO. As a limey might say, "They've lost the plot"

They do stay safe in their style choices, but do them very well.

I've only been to their pub once and the pub exclusives are awesome. The All Night Session and Azacca IPA were worthy of bottling.

I've heard the same remark regarding the Backstage Series.. and yes they hit it big with CBS and Doom and others.. but even recently I very much enjoyed the Dissenter. I wish more IPLs were made

Sorry, it doesn't work like that. Besides, your post didn't even call out a single beer they make. You just went blabbing on about 4 and 6 packs. I can name many BETTER brewers who manage that. Victory for one

Couldn't agree more! Having Imperial Stout, Breakfast Stout and the countless other gems from them at my fingertips, and stocked on the shelves is pretty awesome. A favorite among Midwest breweries.

Agreed that they're high on my list. Backstage has been hit or miss but almost all of their beers are solid

Moving to California at the end of the summer, so needless to say, I'll be drinking my weight in All Day while I still can.

Speaking of cans- relatively cheap 15-packs of All Day cans, with the packaging date printed clearly on the outside of the box? That's a thing of beauty.

I spent many hours and asked many favors to have their brews served at my wedding. It was completely worth the effort.

Looking at your reviews of Founders products, you don't really seem to be a big fan of most of their beers.

I dunno, Red's Rye is pretty fan-fucking-tastic. Not sure if that counts as a "pale" per se, but it is an awesome IPA.

Best of (sub)style in my opinion.

I'm not sure what it means to be a frontrunner in today's beer world, but Founders is certainly deserving of appreciation, and is worthy of more than one thumb up and one thumb down imho.

Founders is one of my top 3! (Stone, Bell's)

They've got a great rotation of core beers including Double Trouble, Imperial Stout, KBS, Devil Dancer, FBS, Curmudgeon, Backwoods Bastard, etc. - I buy them all every year when they come around. And while their Backstage Series may have lost some steam, they still released some all-time greats.

I'm not trying to jump on your anti-Founder's bandwagon here, but if we're going to single out a large Michigan craft brewery for praise for sticking with 6 packs and not screwing us with overpriced formats, shouldn't it be Bell's? They put almost EVERYTHING in 6 packs. The only exception (not counting a few rare GS-only releases) that comes to mind is Black Note, which was still in a 4 pack.

Except Bell's is always overpriced, aside from Two Hearted everything else they have on shelves is much higher then anything Founder's has on the shelf. At least here it is.
