I will see the regular version here in Sheridan Wy and it will NOT move what so ever. I am curious how the other revisions will taste.

I would like to give BCBS another shot but I feel I do not have the palate for it. And it is worthy to note how popular this is, which amazes me!

Hard to imagine how a discussion about BCBS speculation wouldn't lead into some discussion of hype or waiting in line. Trying to contain the conversation to the exact specifications of the thread title seems silly to me. The What Beer Are you Drinking Now threads veer into conversations about music all the time. I think that's a good thing. Just as inserting some thoughts on BCBS, GI and/or INbev into a conversation about variant speculation is a good thing. Discussions where every can prosper grow organically, not in contained environments. Just my two cents.

Man, I was hoping that someone posted the variants with so much posting in the day. Can I have my 15 minutes back?

If it hasn't been said already, I think a honey variant would be nice.

There was a line of tents outside of LP Binny's at 7pm Thursday night last year, so it has crept into Thanksgiving. The Chicago beer scene seemingly doubled right before Black Friday last year, so if that happens again, we can expect it to start even earlier.

Tickle Me Elmo ain't got shit on Bourbon County.

Yea, I just wish the variants and special ones were more available. Silly to keep something so saught after so limited when funding is not a major concern.

I'm hoping for a maple variant! As far as availability goes, I live in northwest Louisiana and there are no other beers available that are comparable to BCBS. For the past 2 years I've been able to get a case on Black Friday without much trouble at all. That usually gets me through the year, though I may try for more this year as I'm currently running low and the release is still a few months away. In 2013 our area got 10 cases. In 2014 we were allocated over 40 cases and 10 kegs! I'm hoping for the same or an even larger allocation this year. I wish there were a locally available year around alternative but there's not; and I find it hard to believe that one does exist.

I guess it seems to me that the reason you would want to talk about these beers is because this site is named "Beer Advocate", not "People that want to keep good beers to themselves and not support the brewers they love by spreading the word".

I'm not trying to be abrasive, but it just seems surprising that you would not want to see the places you love become successful and help enlighten the BA community if you could. You have every right to be selfish about things, but at the same time I would not be surprised if people don't take your claims seriously when you are unwilling to provide evidence. At some point it just becomes you listening to yourself talk, or being inflammatory just for the sake of it.

This seems like kind of a silly thing to argue, that Beer X (that doesn't even exist) would be totally better than beers A, B and C because Bourbon County. That said, I would love to try a "Mexican" Bourbon County stout, since I love beers with cinnamon and chiles. If nothing else, it would probably (maybe) be easier to get than the brewery-only barrel-aged versions of Abraxas, Huna and Mexican Cake. As long as it wasn't Prop, which it probably would be...

I would love to see a Venn Diagram of these two groups of people. Because it always seems like most of the time, the ABInBev bashers are in the majority *and* the people who get mad about criticism of ABInBev with regards to Bourbon County are in the majority.

Personally, I gladly enjoy Bourbon County. But I also don't have any particular moral qualms with ABInBev. Sure, they're a giant multinational corporation, but their worst offenses are things like obnoxious advertisements and attempts to control shelf and tap space. By all accounts, they treat employees well, do good community outreach and are otherwise good corporate citizens. I just can't bring myself to think of them as an "evil corporation"

But I am amused by the disconnect between those who think of them in this way and also love Bourbon County.

I guess I'm an apologist. Personally, I find the hypocrisy mentioned by @maltmaster420 far more off-putting than someone who simply doesn't feel that ABInBev is the evil giant that it is sometimes made out to be.

All 16.9 oz bottles. They found a way to push into the equivalent of a $35+ 4 pack across all varieties. Good for them. I assume the markup at store level per bottle is going to be hilarious.

I wonder if these will even come in 4 packs? I didn't see any mention of that. Seems like this may make things a little more difficult, I guess I'll have to put in for time off now!

Can anyone enlighten me on guajillo peppers?

I assume they're less hot than habaneros, which I find really off-putting in beer. I don't mind when beers have a little kick, like a bit of cayenne, but don't like it so much when the heat lingers.
