For those of you commenting on the color...can you tell me what color of shirt you wore last Saturday? All I know is I wore one and had a Todd the same day. Don't remember the color of either.

As mentioned above...it tasted and smelled the same. If it is darker or lighter...who cares. All I care about is you don't smell worse than you did last week, especially if I am at Surly

Did anyone else notice how the carbonation bubbles were a little smaller than they have been on tap? It was totally different - I ended up dumping out my 3 cases.

Funny. The color matters about 0.01% to me. There's a difference between something mattering and being curious about something. I'm simply curious why the same beer is very obviously a different color. Thanks for your response, though. You're a real comedic genius.

Between the Surly Fanboy and TG ball licking threads, I'm getting 10x my daily dosage of pointless and speculative drivel.

Picked up 4 packs at west side liquor. Damn tasty. Look forward to trying it at the source tomorrow.

Sorry - not an attack. The speculation and analysis around here has just reached a new level lately. It is mostly a good thing. Sorry you didn't like my joke. Won't happen again.

Also, my own over-analysis view of this beer is that there may be something special about golden promise malt and late boil citrusy hop additions. It seems to be the TG model and I am really exicted to see Surly on board as well. Hopefully some day soon this is year round.

    Pour from can dated 7/21:

What's not shown is the fact of zero head retention.

It isn't the late boil edition hops really, it is the dry hopping of this beer, twice, that is the key.

Same with the 07/16 I've had. I close my eyes and it's like I'm in the beer hall with a plate of hog frites in front of me.

Acquired a case at Total Wine a couple of hours ago (Bloomington store), canned 7/21/15, it's most excellent.

so i really don't get it. carbonation issues aside, i can think of a dozen IPA's i'd take over this one. it was good, but certainly not to the superlatives offered in the reviews.

List them please. Todd is damn tasty. I'm having trouble thinking of 1 or 2 IPA's I'd take over this. I need to hit your list or I'm gonna run out of funds buying up $16/4pks of Todd (plus I'm not really buying you contention there are that many better IPA's)

And it's darned-affordable, too! Only $15.99 at the most run down packies in the Saintly City!

I'm VERY eagerly awaiting this list as well! I feel I've put down quite a few IPA's in my time thus far. Now I'd love to experience a dozen IPA's better than Todd. Seriously, let's hear it!
