So I received the favorite movie LIF box from @PassMeAZima today. I was out golfing this afternoon so it was a pretty awesome surprise to come home at 8pm to a box on the porch. Is it bad that my daughter LOVES opening beer mail with me? If you've never heard a 2-1/2 year old say "YAY! Westbrook Gose!", I highly recommend it!

So on to the far too generous box...



Good People - Coffee Oatmeal Flavored Stout: This is a new one for me, but sounds right in my wheelhouse.
Jackie O's - Dark Apparition: My second Jackie O's and excited to try the base beer.
Rivertown - BA Old Sour Cherry Porter: Dont know anything about this beer or brewery but sounds delicious.
Wicked Weed - Oblivion: Not sure you can go wrong with a WW sour! Also a new one for me.
Tin Man - Damascene Apricot Sour: Have one of these on ice already...will #vbs shortly!
Westbrook - Gose: The king of gose...awesome.

Time to thank two people, one of whom I'm guessing you've never heard of. Many moons ago I made an offhand comment about wanting to try Allagash Resurgam. There wasn't a comment in this thread thereafter and I didn't really think about it again.

Well fast forward a bit and someone I hadn't ever traded with, @dwmetsfan13, sent me a killer box, with a Resurgam but also a metric ton of Trillium. His kindness was unheard of until he helped play a sinister, yet hilarious prank on me on Untappd.

Also honorable mention to @heystevec for reaching out and offering a bottle as well. I actually turned him down because I had two bottles. Where did the second bottle come from?! Good question! So we had, maybe still have, a lurker @Drel who, from out of nowhere sent me a bottle just because. Now that's advocacy in its purest form. I wanted to keep his name silent until I cracked the bottle and could thank him properly. The other bottle I sent to one of my longest regular trade partner.

It is awesome. Tons of funk and even some barnyard which I rarely get in beers. Nice acidity which imparts some lemon flavors. Would drink again. Probably more of a 4.33 than 4.25

 

We will see if there's any honor in the southeast...
