What's the beer you can get locally that makes you say "meh" to the really good alternatives available on bottle shop shelves?

For me, Lunch at my local Whole Foods or whatever Trillium has available in bottles seems to ruin other beers for me. Also Julius, but I have only gotten that once, and an hour plus drive isn't as "local" as I'd like it to be.

Fatheads headhunter, sunshine daydream, and seasonals are almost falling off the shelves of gas stations, convenience store, and grocery store shelves. Plus brew pub is like 45 min drive. Not super local, but worth the trip more often than not.

I can get Zombie Dust virtually whenever I want. I bought some yesterday only because it was bottled yesterday too (and it tasted/tastes glorious). I haven't bought any ZD for me in probably 6 months or more. Great beer, but I've moved on from having it any possible time I can.

Also being Massachusetts, I have to agree... though I will generally pass on Lunch. I live in Framingham, so I'll go to Jack's Abby for fresh Hoponius Union.

Just bought a six pack of Creature Comforts Tropicalia canned on 7/28. I had 2 Hearted in the frig, but when I saw the date; I had to buy it.

Pass on Lunch? I'd be hard pressed. Unless the same store has Another One...

To each their own... Lunch just doesn't really impress me. I'm certainly not going to say it's not a good to very good beer, but there's others I'd get for the price.

last years batch of event horizon and omega point are both world class. makes other beers - even some of the crazy, crazy hyped ones - hard to compete.

Totally fair. And when I can get to Trillium in 30 minutes on the commuter rail, or drive to Tree House in an hour, I get it.
