A friend of mine is coming over for his yearly takeover of " the brewery". He's doing 20 gallons of a Belgian Triple. What's in your brew pot?

I really want to get to a session IPA but I am really doubting that I will have the time this weekend. Hoping to get lucky enough to find a few extra hours.

I have my Ordinary Bitter finishing up from last weekend, hoping to have a quick turn around on it and hope to have it kegged and dry hopping soon.

No brewing for me. My APA test batch is dry hopping at the moment, will move 1 of the 2 kes to the keezer to carb tmro night. Captured some Orval dregs a few days ago that I am building up, and will probably plate this weekend to try to isolate the Brett for the brewery. Want to try the same with my bottle of Dupont Saison as well to try to isolate and play with the Brett. Just soaked my carboys too.

I'll pass on brewing. Lots of exploration for me this weekend though. I'll be making a starter for a Cali Common yeast, a strain I've never used before. I'll also try my first samples of commercial kombucha and I'll try to build my first scoby off of that. I'll be breaking out the pickle jar and the 1 gal fermenters for science!

Going to brew my first non-BIAB all grain batch this weekend, an all WLP 644 IPA. I still have to settle on a recipe. And I'm going to try to bottle another batch simultaneously.

Was hoping to brew my Octoberfest Lager Saturday but my LHBS doesn't have the yeast I want (WLP830), so he ordered it in and will be in next Tuesday. But that works, since my girlfriend works next Saturday and she likes when I brew when she is at work. Sucks though because I was hoping to brew it this weekend so it can finish by October 1st, but now it may not be until mid-October.

So sadly nothing :slight_frown: Probably do a deep clean of my equipment.

Likely 10 gallons of pale/gold sour base beer. Had a big sour tasting at a friend's house a few weeks back, first one after a death in his family. Had him pick his favorite five and combined them into some wort and grew them up. The rest will likely get one of the dried cultures from Black Man, and some dregs from Barrett's (the founder) homebrew!

No brewing here either. Patiently waiting for my @JohnSnowNW inspired APA to carb up. Just bottled last night so I have a ways to go :slight_frown:

Just bottled my first attempt at the @JohnSnowNW APA too. The sample that I pulled tasted great! Thanks for a great recipe!

I hope you both enjoy it!

I'd like to ask that you both post your impressions over in the recipe tab, positive or negative. If you made any changes that you thought would better fit your palate, and are happy with the result, post it! Many people view recipes as guides, and any commentary you can add will only benefit those thinking about brewing it.

    Thanks, guys!

No brewing, but bottling the Brett Berliner. I tried Firestone Walker's Bretta Weisse for the first time yesterday, pretty amazing beer, almost approaching lambic and certainly much more complex than the average Berliner. I'll have to hide some bottles from myself to see how they develop over time.

Lager time this weekend. Brewing up a Vienna and an Maibock to be ready for the end of summer and beginning of fall.

Also kegging the 4 batches from the WP experiment.

It's going to be a busy weekend.

Going to try a spiced pumpkin saison tomorrow using a saved 3711 slurry. With an OG of about 1.075 and mashing high I hope to get a FG greater than 1.002 for a change...

Not brewing, but I'm growing up some yeast for a tripel I'll brew on Monday. Today I bottled up my partial extract pumpkin rum quad. Should be killer!

Back from a 3 week long Portland Oregon beercation (almost 200 new beers sampled from 65 different breweries, visited around 15 different breweries and 2 days at Puckerfest and Oregon Brewers Festival)...time to get back into brewing with some new inspirations!

Yesterday I dry hopped 4 batches I had fermenting while in Oregon...a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale clone, a Zombie Dust clone, a hoppy hefeweizen and an all Citra Trois DIPA. Bottling a honey Brett saison today (and possibly a La Folie clone if it's ready) and brewing up a Clean-out-the-freezer CDA/black IPA. Going to celebrate my 40th birthday with friends in 2 weeks and hope to have all of those clean beers on tap for everyone to enjoy!

    Cheers!
