    Mead side review:

This was awesome stuff. Medium-full honey/apple sweetness with moderate cinnamon/vanilla spice and balanced estery yeast fruitiness. Light-moderate tart/spicy finish balances out the sweetness. Great balance of spice and honey/apple flavors. Smooth and warming finish. Really delicious, but I prefer Hideout's Apple pie mead over this; as it has more pronounced sweetness with a lack of any tart apples, and additional pie spices other than cinnamon and nutmeg; resulting in a more true apple pie taste. The ABV and resulting ester profile might be a slight bit of a downfall for this one. 16.8% vs Hideout's 5.5% hydromel style gravity.

    Regular reviews:

Very good session IPA. Great head retention and dense lacing. Aromas and flavors were different here. Bright aromatics of big grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, mango, melon, papaya, and pine; with moderate crackery/bready malts and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Taste is far less tropical: Grapefruit, lemon zest, orange peel, pineapple, citrus rind, and pine; with moderate crackery/bready malt and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Light-medium body with a smooth and crisp finish, with a moderate sticky/resinous mouthfeel. Nice robustness overall without any watery vibes. They used a wide variety of base malts in this beer and it really helped give a good solid presence of bready flavors against the hops; while still pretty much being a full hop flavor showcase. Really enjoyable. The bigger complex tropical aromas didnt really match up to the flavors, but were still really good overall.

Imperial Tilquin. Amazing gueuze. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, lime, grapefruit, orange peel, green apple, pear, white grape, white vinegar, pepper, leather, wheat, cracker, hay, straw, grass, musty funk, and yeast/oaky earthiness. Moderate amount of fruity/earthy tartness and peppery spiciness on the finish. Very smooth and moderately acidic mouthfeel with some light sticky crispness. Great balance of acidity, brett spiciness, and pale malt. Just an all around amazing depth of complexity going on, as with the normal Tilquin. This ranks similarly to the regular with me, with increased intensity of oak character and spicy brett notes and a bit more wheaty malt character.

Was in a barleywine mood so I pulled this out of the cellar(more of a black barleywine of course). Still sitting on 17 because it is 17%. They only did last years @ 12.4%, so I am less worried about aging it too much, sitting at just over 10 months age since bottle dating. This was fantastic. Super dense pour but has really great head retention and dense lacing. Aromas and flavors of huge caramel, molasses, toffee, toast, dark bread, chocolate, light coffee/nuttiness, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, date, red wine, and light herbal/piney/peppery hops. Light-moderate herbal/peppery bitterness on the finish; with great all around balance against the dense malt profile with no cloying sweetness. A bit of spicy alcohol cleans the palate on the finish; with only a moderate warming finish with no booziness. Wow this was just all around awesome. The malt, dark fruit, and earthy hop character were extremely well balanced, and it was really smooth sipping for the big ABV level. There are still plenty sitting on shelves locally. I might buy another to sit on for a while and see it develop, but it is very much good to go right now IMO.

Jesus, you guys don't make this easy, can't simply upload photo?

Trying this beer for the first time - doing my summer time "splash of Orange Juice" in Hefeweizens thing - I'm liking it. Goes well with my wife's delicious cooking!

My first Mexican style stout and it isn't bad. Could use more ancho presence i think, but nice cinnamon flavors and creaminess,i dig it.
Suppose some Brujeria is in order for this occasion

My last Grapefruit Sculpin from a birthday box from my sister in CA (along with two PtE, but they're long gone). Can't bear to take a picture of it - I'll miss the fresh summer IPA too much!
