Fall Brewing in San Diego has a wall behind the bar covered with posters of seminal punk/hardcore bands like Rocket from the Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, etc.
I've only been there once but it had a really cool vibe and there also seemed to be more women than men.

The Municipal Waste stout was tasty, too.

The best metal in the world is used to make guns and knives. Any beer will go with that.

I like beer. I like metal. I think I have had the most "metal beers" from Three Floyds at this point. It seems they are all about the metal collaborations.

@DanU 3 Floyds used to distribute in PA years ago, then pulled out (I used to walk out of the local distributor with a case or two of fresh Alpha King on a regular basis), even during that euphoric period distro was limited for our area. When I go home to Indiana (Southern IN) every year it's still hard to find fresh bottles of their IPA's on the shelf. (Blame the Chicago market which is very lucrative.:stuck_out_tongue::grinning:)

okay i'll be 'that guy'. first i'll say I love the hell out of Agalloch, Opeth (don't care for YOB), but these bands are all quite mainstream as well

But where is the Necrophagist beer? I think the only metal beer i've had is the Iron Maiden one. And it was not very good. Then again I do not like english ales. I did when I first 21 because they're easy to drink and offer no complex flavor points. Also all the talk of BTBAM. I see them in a few weeks. STOKED.

I just bought tickets to Mayhem, Rotting Christ, and Watain. I'd love to get a bottle of Whiskey Funeral or hell, anything else from TRVE.

Best band/brewery collaboration I've had was Real Ale's Iron Swan (The Sword).

    Metal goes well with anything.

I have seen George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher wear a 2014 Three Floyd's DLD Shirt on stage, I would love to see a Cannibal/Three Floyd's Collab

Tomb of the Mutilated has Barnes on vocals. Great album though.

Nice, it would be cool to see their stuff in this area. I certainly can't complain though, lots of good brews around. My cousin moved to IN, trying to get him to bring something back but he isn't into craft so it's tough haha. May need to plan a vaca somewhere with 3F on the travel route.

Eh, fair enough. I just used three examples off the top of my head that were a little more underground than Metallica, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Pantera, and Slayer.

Thank you for name-dropping 3 of my favorites. I'm especially happy to see Yob get some love.

To quote a line from a "beer + metal" BA thread of long ago, "Black metal ist kriek."

Am I the only non-metal fan here? I find any beer pairs perfectly with Tom Waits, Nick Drake and Stone Roses.

I'm happy to say that beer pairs perfectly with pretty much any kind of music.
