What beer are you drinking now? #1016

Last one from the mixed pack. A tasty pale ale. Tangerine, grapefruit, strawberry, lemon zest, orange peel, and piney hops; with some moderate toast/biscuit malt and a sticky/resinous mouthfeel and finish. Very smooth and drinkable, I much prefer Space Rock.


Picked up another random single this week. Big juicy apricot, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, banana, pepper, clove, pine, light caramel, and toasted bread; with moderate piney/grassy bitterness and peppery yeast spice on the finish. Upwards of 5 months old for this bottle, but still plenty hoppy and balanced between hops, yeast, and malt flavors. Such a delicious Belgian IPA. Look forward to buying a pack of the fresh batch this week.


My go-to brown ale, for the standard brown ale flavor profile. If I want more roast forward character I go with New Holland Cabin fever or Dogfish IBA. Big robust flavors of caramel, toast, toffee, brown bread, nuttiness, and light chocolate with moderate herbal hop flavor; and light-moderate earthy bitterness. One of the best true to style American browns out there.


First Pumking of the year. Glad they are in 4 packs now, don’t care that it’s not autumn. Still tasting incredible as usual. Big flavors of pumpkin, gingerbread, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, bread crust, caramel, and light herbal spice bitterness. Great spice balance/complexity with malt and pumpkin flavor; and very smooth. If only everyone went to 12 ounce bottles for their previously large format, I’d have a far larger variety of high gravity offerings to choose from for normal enjoyment. I will definitely pick up more to stash away for a bit too, around 6 months of age to mellow the spices a bit makes it even better to me.

I used to sail when I was younger. I still have that urge. That looks like a fun boat. I had an old comet that belonged in a museum. Built in 1909. I had fun in that as a teenager.

 

with the next R&D release days away, thought I should finally get around to sipping the last one, Vintage 2014. hot damn, it's delicious stuff...
