Noob question... Is this the first year there's an SD AND LA event? I'm probably busy on 10/4, but bought a two day ticket anyway just in case. Curious how SD is different than the LA event.

Yes. And knowing Chris they will not be identical.

I haven't ever been (noob) but I'm excited for this! This will be my first event like this, so I wanted to ask: how many bottles should I be bringing to contribute/participate in the bottle share? I was thinking something like 5-6 if I wanted to stay most of the day.

I think I'd have a better chance of convincing her if I hadn't told her about the guy slowly and methodically puking into a pitcher, and all over his shirt, at our table last year ...

At least he had the sophistication to do it into a pitcher, rather than on the floor. Be optimistic, this isn't a glass-is-half-empty situation, it's a pitcher-is-half-full (and still going) situation!

I hate to discourage people from bringing beer, especially if they're potential whalez or a nice vertical, but, 5 to 6 375s, yeah. 5 to 6 750s is overkill, unless they're berliners or something. There's a lot of excellent event beer, including some stellar home brew the last two years, to drink so you don't necessarily have to cover your beer sharing for the entire 7 hours or whatever it is this year. Drink event beers, share, drink event beers, share, repeat ad infinitum.

I usually bring 3-4 750s and that ends up working well.

Do people ever bring extra stuff with them for possible trades? Are trades a thing here?

Oh for fucks sake, don't make this an Arabian market place. if you're bringing bottles, expect to pop them open.

just bought my LA tix! First year since I've been aware of it that I'll actually be able to go, so I'm incredibly stoked. It also helps that I live within a very short walk of Hermosillo.

Looks like tickets for LA and both LA and San Diego are sold out! That was fast! Single day tickets for San Diego still available though. Glad I jumped on that.

Ha ha. Just goes to show, if you put it on BPT, it'll sell out. Years past when it was just paypal chris, this sucker would last for a while.
