I know it doesn't need me to advocate for it but Gulden Draak, whenever I can, I sell a few bottles of it at my local bottle shop every time I go in and I don't even work there

Ivan Dejesus. Sometime around 1979, Sport Illustrated published a list of the "most underrated" players in major league baseball. When with no sense of irony I started citing this list and referring to Dejesus as the #6 most underrated player, it became the subject of much amusement in my peer group.

Having said that: Anything by Two Brothers. Great, tasty beer, Little recognition.

My favorite brewer here in Michigan, Short's. I've also been talking up OddSide a bit too.

I am a big advocate for all of Evolution's beers. I feel that are great brewery and feel if they are one of Maryland's best breweries and would have been Delaware's best if they didn't move. Their DIPA fresh is great, their regular IPA I feel is comparable to Unoin Jack, and they have done great barrel work.

I will second Old Pro, I didn't think of it right away due to extreme local popularity locally. I love it, have already drank about a case worth this summer!

I feel like I advocate most for German beers in general. They do so much with so little, so much variety, in some beers so much complexity (hefeweisens come to mind), some beers are just incredibly refined and refreshing (quality pilseners).

Definitely Pipeworks. I think people outside their distro area don't know how good their beers are and people inside their distro area don't want to over hype their beers because some are so hard to get already. Some day I'll find a Square Grouper or Red Snapper. I would even be happy with a Spotted Puffer!

Not a beer specifically but i could talk about the brewing process/ingredients/chemistry aspect of beer until i suffocate. So far i bore 99% of people haha. Ive tried to advocate craft for a while. And people either dont like the beer i suggest/offer or dont care

Bitters of around 4% using proper English hops. Unfortunately, the attractiveness of overhopping with American versions of these great hops means that many if not most 'craft' beer lovers ignore them or consider these beers 'malt forward'.

Foley brothers brewing. Their fair Madin, native IPA, and barrel aged offerings are super. Small family operation, small batch high quality!

Also, another brewery that rates high, but I do not believe it has the hype it deserves is Jackie O's. JO's BA beer are top notch, and I would put them up against most of the "whales" that I have tried.

As a matter of disclosure, I accidently posted the original post - I was on my phone trying to post on WBAYDN, didn't realize I was in this thread!!!

Since I interrupted this thread, which is a great conversation I might add, I now feel compelled to bring SOMETHING of value to the OP's question.

As a matter of fact, I agree with the OP in a big way on this:

It was the first Barley Wine I ever had and it sold me on the entire style. Just a fantastic beer. As for other beers I find myself fighting for, most any quality German beer. Every time I have a Weinhenstephaner ANYTHING, I think to myself "Why can I even find this on the shelf?" It's the one brewery that should have all their beers sold out routinely. Is it too bold of me to say that everything they make is flawless? Maybe that is bold, but as a minimum they deserve far more run than what they get!

Locally I have championed Pocahoptus from Center of the Universe, Missile IPA from Champion and Citra Ass Down from Extra Billy's. All three tend to get forgotten as all things local that get discussed tend to gravitate towards Hardywood, Lickinghole Creek and (3) Brothers. The former three are all very solid and worthy of some run at least.

I advocate for many styles of beer.....bocks and pumpkin beers in particular.

Also, LOVE Anchor Brewing and their beers are fantastic, and their place in brewing history should be more widely known....many "newbs" do not know how long Anchor beers have been out, and what they did to start the craft beer revolution so many decades ago. Kudos to Fritz Maytag!

Couldn't agree more. I find myself bringing them up constantly in conversation and here on BA. Never had a sub-par brew from them, everything is stand-out.

I feel like Smuttynose kinda gets lost in the shuffle with all of the other badass northern New England breweries. But the price is right and the quality is always there.

Anther New Hampshire gem is Schillings out of Littleton. They are doing some amazing old world styles: http://schillingbeer.com/current-beers/

Shorts gets a lot of weird hate, so I usually try to rep them to friends and fam. They have some odd ones I'm not a fan of, but most of their portfolio is either solid or phenomenal. Specifically from them, Freedom of 78. Every year I gush about this beer and push people to buy some, it's that good.

Maybe more people talk about it than I realize, and it DOES have a 91 rating, but I think that Loose Cannon by Heavy Seas is one of the best well rounded IPA's I've ever tasted. When I first had it I expected it to destroy my taste buds with dank hoppy-ness, but what I discovered instead was one of the most balanced IPA's I've ever tasted. IMO.
