I generally have about 10-15 beers in the cellar. If I am having people over I will stock up more. As I work through my supply I get to the bottom panic number (B). This is when I freak out and realize I need to go to the bottle shop and get some new beers in the house. There is also a point, usually after a beer road trip, where I have accumulated too much. I freak out and think, "I will never get to these IPAs before they are too old!!" The top panic number (T).

If I live between (B) and (T) I am pretty happy.
    For me the numbers are:
    (B) = 6
    (T) = 15

I am trying to figure out if this is a unique condition/phobia?

Man, I wish my numbers were that low. I just got back from a trip to NE and I believe I'll be okay for the next few weeks.

    (B)=20
    (T)=45

I think that I may have a problem.

    (B)= 24/22oz + @24/12oz
    (T)= 48/22oz + 72/12oz

I like to keep a fair amount around, although my beer "cellar" pales in comparison to my wine collection.

You're not alone OP. I too share this condition.

    (B) = 12
    (T) = 12 (assuming we're talking about a unit being a 12 oz can)

Tough to tailor your buying habits to abide by these numbers, at least as far as the IPAs are concerned.

I am yet to panic over beer. There's more at the bar and the store.

I have been trying to get down to single digits for over a year. I can't seem to fall under 25 -30 without someone sending me something or a can't miss local release happens. I long for the (B) panic.

Completely normal. I'm actually panicking right now because I'm leaving for a cruise this weekend and still have 15-20 bottles of hops in the fridge.

Also, just hit that panic number in the cellar as well, which is why I'm trading half of it.

    (B)= 10
    (T)= 50

Sadly, I think my bottom panic number would be somewhere around 100.

    I generally don't put anything in my cellar that isn't age-able, so I guess my T = ∞

Ever since a trip to Wisconsin this winter when I brought back around 5 cases of beer, I've been unsuccessfully trying to get under 3 cases. Every few weeks when I buy more beer my wife comments on how much beer we have (unless I manage to sneak it in without her seeing). The obvious solution is for me to drink more, but somehow I don't think that's what she has in mind.

I never panic about too much. Too little would be 30 single serve bottles

I have plenty of beer in the 'cellar' (aging beer) but right now I think I have 6 beers left in the fridge. This is my panic scenario - because I know that soon I will be forced to pull some expedition stout out of the time capsule. I really want to keep it in the time capsule!

I wish I only had that much on hand. I usually have a 12-24 various beers in the fridge and maybe 5 bombers at any one time. The celler is a whole other monster with 200ish 12oz, 22oz, and 750s' (althouhg the GF says I need to start reducing this radically before we move :slight_frown:. )

I might get antsy if there wasn't enough beer in the fridge for the next 24 hours and I was all out of liquor and had two broken legs, no cell signal and had been left Home Alone. Otherwise, I'm sure I could come up with a workable solution, and I never panic if I have a workable solution.

As far as having *too much* beer goes... I never keep more than a couple of cases (or the equivalent) on hand, and I generally buy my IPAs on a weekly basis, so no problem there.

I have a cellar full of higher ABV stuff so I never really panic but as far as everyday drinkable stuff in my bar fridge that is 8% ABV and under...I usually keep between 12-36 in the fridge at all times but never afraid to hit the cellar if a friend drops by
