[IMG] I use a thick plastic Christmas tree stand exactly like this one, it sits beautifully in my trunk without sliding, it's adjustable for and size (64 vs 32), cost me $2 at a thrift store, and it works perfectly

I keep em between my knees with an extra long twisty straw leading to my mouth.

    Right, right. The squirmy thing.

Confounded squirmy things. The bane to beer, I say...

Pretty much half of Karl Strauss beers are good anyway. Hope the good one didn't break.

I have 1 glass 32, 1 glass 64 and one stainless steel 64. I keep them in an insulated bag behind my front seat, glass ones are wrapped in a towel. So far no mishaps, and they are always with me. And yes before this I used to put the seatbelt on them and disable the airbag. Figured if it went airborne and the bag hit it I would smell like a drunk and have glass sticking out of my face

Any beer that doesn't go in the cooler in trunk gets buckled up in back seat. Covered from sunlight, of course.

I've never gone out of my way to protect them any more than perhaps wrapping them in a sweater (always have one in the car) or putting them individually on the rear floorboards, giving them a little area to play and perhaps stretch out and nap. I'll also use the map pockets on the back of the front seats to keep them cozy. I'm not wholesale against the buckling method presented by the OP, just never really thought I'd need to. Maybe if I had to traverse I-5 as the OP may very well have to, I'd look at additional safety measures as well!

Growlers, sixers, sixtel, cases, eggs, propane tanks (for boiling wort) backpacks, lunches hell everything gets put in place to not move or bang around in our cars

Broken growler? That's beer abuse with an awful cleanup to accomplish, that and then you can be reminded every time you get in your car for the next couple weeks about what could have been (consumed)

You could just leave the cooler in the car and put the growlers in there when you get back, you know.
