Hi all, So I was talking to a friend's cousin yesterday and I was telling him I recently traveled to 3 Floyds and I acquired a case of Zombie Dust. He told me when I'm finished to make sure to save the bottles and caps because I can mail the empties back to them and they'll refill them. Is this true?!?!?! If anyone can let me know I would greatly appreciate. Have a great one and take care all! -Nick
Ignignokt: On the moon, the weekend has advanced beyond your wildest dreams. Weekends now take up the entire week, and jobs have been phased out accordingly. Err: We get checks from the government. And we use them to buy beer. Had to
Forget mailing them back, I place my FFF empties in a metal box outside my door & the friendly gentleman swaps them out each week.
I've seen this done before. In fact, each time you send the bottles back they fill it with a better version of Zombie Dust. Pretty sure it works like this (according to my friend who swears Nick Floyd told him that they have actual zombies on site who help them brew at night to keep up with demand): 1st Re-fill regular Zombie Dust 2nd Re-fill Super Zombie Dust (it is really Permanent Funeral but "Super" sounds cooler) 3rd Re-fill Super-Duper Zombie Dust 4th Re-fill barrel aged Zombie Dust 5th Re-fill Double barrel Zombie Dust 6th Re-fill bottle filled with dry Citra hops to chew on
Three Floyds has always done this with all their beers. Since getting a BVDL in 2012, I've been sending the bottle back for refills pretty regularly. I don't want to be greedy and take too much advantage, so I limit myself to once every two or three weeks, but it's a nice arrangement.
I would just go straight to Three Floyds with the empty bottles. With their legendary friendly customer service, I'm sure they will be very helpful to you, and not laugh at you mercilessly.
