Or just disconnect the phone this time or year. Heck, who uses landlines anyway? Get rid of the phone period. Rely on social media.

Got to have a landline to call 911 when roving bands of neckbeards and rapscallions bust down doors, cut lines or otherwise act unruly.......

911 works over cellular now, and has for years...

Yes, but bottle chasing neckbeards have been known to implement GSM/3G/CDMA jamming devices........remember the ticket scanner apps not working at Huna day last year?

I chuckled at that, but I'd hate to think whale hunters would jam a 911 call just to clear another bottle purchase. Who knows though, people definitely take this shit way too seriously already. If a Black Friday sale can cause a stampede at a WalMart, I'd say BA Cake could too if given the right fuel.

I support Westbrook and drink their IPA, One Claw and many of their limited offerings. The only thing I was and remain upset about is the lack of communication. Westbrook had been doing an announced release for regular MC and then decided to change that to a silent release this year - it seems for some very good reasons as I have learned from the folks on this thread who know about these things. If Westbrook had sent a brief tweet or made a Facebook post a week or two out from the expected release day / timeframe revealing that they were switching to a silent release for this year or all future years then I would have no problem at all.

They can run release their products as they see fit - all I ask is if they are changing from something they normally do then inform the customers beforehand and carry on. Not too much to ask IMHO.

For the record, I deserve each variant of this beer.

Says the guy from Belgium who created a username and login so that he could post anonymous thoughts with Americans in the Southeast on a thread about a beer that is only for sale in one location in the world.

    WINK

@JdoubleA really does deserve each variant. He's a good guy. Why is life so unfair?

As I read through this post, I wasn't sure if I was on Yelp.

Like many of you expressed, Westbrook should do what's best in their business strategy which I'm sure includes taking good care of REGULAR customers. Their Gose makes my whole summer better while specialty beers only impact one day.

Offered Solution - message on phone could contain "If you're calling about a beer release, please visit our Facebook page, ALL OTHERS PRESS 2". This could be a big time saver for staff to help PAYING customers.

People would just press 2 and ask about the beer release anyway

The problem is people do need to get in touch with the brewery about things other than beer releases.

You South Carolina folk go nuts over Mexican Cake; as if it were the only great thing brewed in your state. Oh - wait - I guess it is. My bad.

I cant wait for these variants to release. We just went to Westbrook Brewing and it was a good experience, the bartenders were friendly and it wasn't too packed. Very cool taproom but the parking does suck. I wasn't too impressed with there other beers, especially Evin Twin's stuff but the Mexican Cake variants and there 2nd Anniversary Ballastic stout barrel-aged, that we just had on draft, was really good.
