@JdoubleA That beer sap is called the Devil's Cut. Get on board with beer terminology, nerd.

What does "due to the poor quality of the barrels" mean?

I'm not a huge fan of rum BA stuff, but if it's an Olde Hickory barrel-aged beer then naturally I want it.

-It means that they weren't fit to hold liquid, but appeared so until it was too late.

Good luck with that one! They keep things close to the chest...for good reason though...

Truth is we aren't sure about Calico Jack yet. We are at the mercy of the beer and there is no reason to rush it. Carolus Magnus is almost ready. Labels have been in for almost a month now. We are waiting for batch 2 to finish in the tank so we can transfer that to the Armagnac barrels after we remove batch 1. We will let the community know once we have a release plan.

I hope this turns into Hickory's version of the BA Mexican Cake thread.

They did a great job of letting us know about the Omega Point release. It was short notice (couple days, right?) but it was a definite time and date. That release went off largely like clockwork - especially for their first in brewery release. No complaints from me. Can't wait to do another bottle share when these guys come out!

From all their offer barrel-aged offerings, I am confident in Olde Hickory knocking this one out of the park.
