Pretty Much what he said. This was my first Lord Hobo, that my girlfriend actually bought for me to fill up her mix a six. Im not sure i would have gotten it myself.. lol. Just too much money for a brand new brewery. Ill wait until they are at a festival before trying any of their other offerings.

If you're driving through Woburn, stop into the brewery. They give unlimited free samples and the crew there is super nice. It sounds like they're going to be going to a ton of the beer fests around New England now... VT Hop Jam, EBF, GABF, etc... so you'll definitely have a chance to try them even if you don't make it to the brewery. And on the plus side, there probably won't be a line at their booth so you can try them all with no waiting!

Touchdown in Grand Rapids, the bombardment of Keith's newly acquired porch has begun. BOOM! (content hint)

Hey everyone. I know that I'm still pretty new in the group and have done just a couple small LIF's but I was hoping I could get a little help. I talked on here about doing some work with BCBS and adding in some other ingredients to it. Tomorrow I want to add some vanilla beans and was wondering if someone has ever done that. I want to make sure I do it correctly so I don't waste such a good beer!

yep, Split one open and drop it in, and put a stopper on top.

Actually just did this to a homebrew stout last night, 1 with vanilla and one with a cinn stick. In a few weeks at my house on 8/22 we are going to do a bunch, including maple bacon.. all are welcome

You've received some good pointers, you could also start off with something more attainable such as Dragon's Milk. I've done coconut with BCBS, but I like to try out others on Dragon's Milk first.

Maple bacon... Those are two of my favorite things! Um, @NickyPogs how about a trip to the east cost!

I like what you're saying. I think I'm going to do the Dragon's Milk first until I have this down. I think its more challenging to mess this up than it is to do it, but I don't want to take a chance on the good beer!

Yeah, ill be at hopjam as well as EBF. But i mean i dont think i would waste one of my hopjam beer tickets on them with all the other breweries.

Since it looks like the NHL Playoffs BIF thread was purged and there were a number of locals in there, I'll just post the pr0n from the last box here, and tag @sholle who was the sender. We had a little side bet action going on, so this was the biggest box of them all. He even did it priority overnight (completely unnecessary by the way!) due to the delay in being able to send

Sorry for the slightly blurry pic...

    Vanilla Bitch Slap
2x 2013 Bigfoot (never had despite being able to get it around me -- stoked to have some already aged... might have to pick up some fresh now...)
    3x Tumbleweed IPA
    3x Homefront IPA
    3x Yardsalw Amber Ale
    3x Rising Trout Pale Ale

Awesome box, multiples of some of those things is pretty sweet since I can share some of them with friends. That tumbleweed IPA has really good ratings for something I've never heard of!

EDIT I should also note that it was really impressive how small of a box all of this came in... I almost would have thought @whyteboy003 packed this one...

Agreed. I think that my strategy for Hop Jam will be to share beers with the group I'm going with. Spending 1 ticket on a 12oz pour, then splitting it into 2 cups. Get to try more beers that way, and hopefully last the full 10 hours! Also bringing lawn chairs and maybe a pop up tent for shade.

As long as you don't mean steal my two 6-oz pours, I think we'll be fine.

Thanks  I'm more an 'expert' on infusions with fruit than things like vanilla or coffee, though I really do need to get around to non-fruit infusions too. @shundahai if you've got any questions about infusing fruit into beer, hit me up.
