Harpoon Ghost King.......would not expect a DIPA with the word Ghost.

Palate Wrecker. This made me expect for my palate to be…well, wrecked. Destroyed. Annihilated. For the massive IBU and high alcohol level, it's actually sort of balanced. And tasty.

I've never tasted a moose's drool but if it tastes like Moose Drool then I'm going to buy a moose and harvest its drool

I second the Oarsman. No idea it was a Berliner until I poured it. Glad I did though, I found it freakin delicious.

I'll throw in Grunion. Makes me think of garlic-onion. Strange name for a fish, too.

Either Three Floyds Apocalypse Cow (it's an IPA but sounds like a milk stout) or Founder's Big Lushious (it's not actually that big of a beer). Those are just the two that one to mind, but I'm sure there are others.

Dogfish 61. Regardless of grape must, the IPA side was nothing like 60 min to me and dirt wolf didnt make sense at first then i read the description humulus lupulus is hops scientific name and lupus i think is scientific name for wolf so i got that a dirt wolf is a hop, it grows out of dirt. I got it lol

Interestingly enough, garlic and green onion is EXACTLY what I get from Grunion (and most other Mosaic-hopped beers I've tried).

Sweetwater 420 seems like it should be a massively dank DIPA, not a light, crisp old school pale ale.
Westvleteren XII isn't named "Nectar of the Gods" but I would argue that it should be.

This is not the exact thing that OP was looking for, but a pretty decent number of 'American IPAs/IIPAs' brewed here in Québec don't match to what one would expect when seeing those three letters on the label.
Not all of them are bad, but the good ones (that actually taste like the style) could be counted on one hand. Thankfully, I feel like this is becoming less of a problem every day.

Yeah I know, it's just you wouldn't immediately think it was an IPA based on the name alone.

Deschutes Pinedrops IPA...not very piny tasting. Seemed more like a session IPA.
