CCB Good Gourd

It's a hell of a beer, and I personally don't care when it comes out.

But damn, $14 for a bomber? Not sure it's THAT good.

Agreed. It's great, but not worth that kind of cash. Wasn't it $10-$12 for a 750ml bottle just a couple years ago?

 

I seem to remember it being $8 for a 750 like 3 years ago (which was the last time I was able to get it at my total wine.)

 

I think I paid $12ish per bottle at bottle shops in Orlando last year. I was also able to get my hands on 6 bottles with relative ease.

Pumpkin beers are not something I'll be chasing around town but I'll likely grab a bottle or two if it is available when I go by my local spots since a few of my regular trade partners will likely want one.

 

I want to say it was $9 in 2013 for a 750 and $11 last year for a 22.

Cucumber Saison and Good Gourd, MZ sold out. They did still have White Oak in cans though and tomorrow is of course Growler Tuesday if Good Gourd lasts till then.

 

It was $13/bottle last year in the tasting room.

It came out later than this last year (in late September I think) but in 2013 it came out in the last week of July. So this is actually later than some years and much later than a few other breweries that had bottles in store the week after the 4th of July.

 

And I can't even remember my kids' birthdays.

 

I guess sales are the motivating factor to get the beer out. I really wish breweries would hold off until mid-September to release these. If CCB did two releases, they could release the 2nd closer to Thanksgiving. This would ensure the freshness around the holidays we are all munching down on gourds anyways. Oh well, I don't make the rules!

 

Love some good gourd for sure. Need to make some calls for some pick me ups

 

We cracked a year old one at an Orlando share a few months ago and I'll be damned if this one didn't hold up quite well to age, brought out a bit more of the sweetness in it and made it taste oh so close to Almighty.

 

They released Good Gourd twice last year in distribution, about a month apart from each other. I prefer GG with a year on it though, like @wesbourne said, that last bottle tasted perfect after all those beers we had. Fashionably late!

 

total wine daytona beach going to see distro? I know I probably missed zukov but would like to grab this next weekend.

 

TW Daytona gets all the CCB limited distro. I stop by there on my way to Jville. Easy stop off of I95 and they usually have decent stuff. It'll be 1pp at the front desk if they do get it.

 

Well, CCB found the tipping point on price with this beer for me. I'm sure they will sell through without problem but I'm not interested in this one at $14 for 22oz. Not to mention it will cost a buck or two more in stores. #moreforyou

On that note: Hunahpu is turning into a steal at $20 for 750ml (and no, I haven't forgotten about the $200 event)

 

Actually you may find this for a buck or two less in stores. That seems to be the trend the last couple of years.
