If you'll allow for the additions in bold, I'd say you're 100% correct. Better-than-thou dickish behavior is certainly a commonality between the two subcultures, and for exactly the reason you cite.

I personally don't give a shit what anyone else listens to.

Damn I'm old, been a metal fan since the 70s, still listen to mostly prog metal, but I've never heard of 90% of the bands mentioned here

While that does flow off the tongue, I'm not quite sure that would fit their musical style :stuck_out_tongue:

You're not old, there are just so many different subgenres of metal. What bands are you talking about in particular? The definition of metal differs I suppose, Rolling Stone called Alice Cooper metal back in the day, they called Zeppelin metal too! The general consensus is that Black Sabbath was the first true metal band though. Hell, even Uriah Heep were labelled metal back in the day. I love Prog bands though.

Very true. Thinking more of a 18% barrel aged Imp. Stout.

A beer named after cannibal corpses finest song deserves nothing but the best ingredients. Maybe some rotting muscle tissue instead of two row malt? CC fucking rules!!!!!

I truly dislike the clebrity beers. I won't buy one. Not wootstout or ac/dc beer- not any beer made by, endorsed by, or carrying the name of any celebrity. My peeve, my perrogative.

Trying to keep the scene alive.

Tired Hands has done their fair share of metal beers as well.

    Play Fast with Dave Witte
    Sunbather with Deafheaven
    Only Void with Pallbearer
Stoner Witch in honor of the Melvins
Yellow and Green in honor of Baroness

    Sure there's tons more.

Stoner Witch is so so good.

But yeah, beer and metal shouldn't be too surprising. Both scenes are dominated by white men after all. That said, I like the idea of the collaborations.

This album cover (from 1987) would look pretty cool on a beer bottle.

So...Any Black Dahlia Murder fans here? New album is the only one that can rival Nocturnal in my opinion. Everblack was solid too, it just didn't capture the epicness

Yep! Nothing will top Unhallowed for me though, personally. So much raw aggression on that album.

Listening to Ritual right now - very underrated album if you ask me. Nocturnal to me is the heaviest and one of my favorite to listen to , but when it comes to my all time favorite - Miasma hands down - Could listen to that album from start to finish all day every day!

Hmmm I haven't listened to Unhallowed..Well I know what I'm doing after work.

Have you checked out Rings of Saturns new album? If not I highly suggest it.

Quick other question, how does everybody feel about Thy Art is Murder? I simply cannot get into them and think everything they release sounds like a rehash of past albums :/
