You might be alone there, Sparky. Mine was excellent.

Can't say I've seen anything like that either, at least not to that extent. Send them an email, I'm sure they'll take care of you. If not you know which brewery you don't have to worry about buying beer from again.

    Mine was absolutely perfect.

I sent the jpg to the brewery, and will post their comments. FWIW this was my 3,545 beer, but have rated only 2,783 beers.

Did you add Nesquik to the glass before you poured it ? In all seriousness that is really strange and not something I've seen from a commercially made beer before. Did you smell/taste it at all? Were the flavors seemingly off at all?

I think you might have accidentally received a bottle of shapeshitter by mistake. In all seriousness I have never seen a bottle with this much sediment, do post their response I'm real curious.

Wow, looks like they scraped the bottom of the fermenter and put it in a bottle! Definitely something weird going on there, and I would suspect some kind of quality control issue in bottling where the dregs got bottled by mistake.

I had it too. it drinks better at cellar temps rather than very cold and mine did have sediment.

*eidt - your photo is nothing close to what I had. That is just wrong.

Here's the response I got from the brewer:

Hi Jim. We've received two other pics like this. It seems like the bottling line guy didn't noticed when the beer turned to slurry at the bottom of the tank and there were a few bottles that came out this way! Send me your address and we'll replace it.

So clearly others have had the same issue but the brewer is on top of it and will fix it. I appreciate his quick response.

I tasted some from the left glass and it seemed to have a tart cherry flavor but the majority of it was poured.

@jdhilt , I know you've already had a response from the brewer, but I thought I'd tag @Grimm_Artisanal_Ales here because they're active on these forums and they'd probably want to know that your thread exists.

BTW, every time I see your avatar, I think of Randy Savage (when he had a matching beard color). Perhaps you look nothing like him in person, but take no offense - the guy was amazingly charismatic.

Glad they answered you pretty quickly. From their interactions here on BA, they seem like good people.

Is it really necessary to have this post for a small brewery for everyone to see, when they admitted a mistake and are fixing it? If the beer is bad, post a review, but in this case it is an error and the brewery is making right. I don't see a point in having this thread on the main page to hurt a small brewer that is making good beer.

Oh stop the coddling. Feedback in all forms is a bonus. If someone else has this issue there is now a reference to it somewhere and a feel good story of the brewery coming through with some good customer service. This makes Grimm look good. How places handle errors is a very big part of the equation. Ignoring that shit happens helps no one.

I'm not saying it should be ignored. I'm saying to take it up to the business first and give them a chance to fix it before blasting it out there. People do this on yelp and everywhere else, this hurts small businesses. Everyone makes mistakes at work, it's how it's handled that matters. It's only fair if every mistake all of you make at work gets blasted on the internet even if you are able to remedy the situation.

The OP had a question. Seems like a forum on BA would be a good place to post such things. The beer *is* bad, and at least by posting this thread, he allowed the brewer to make it right (which they did) and likely increased their standing in many consumers eyes.

Imagine if he had just reviewed the beer, per your suggestion.

I'm really not seeing how staying silent is a reasonable choice.
