It hasn't been on tap lately at the brewery, that's why I mentioned it being a bummer. 6 packs around the area.

I've been to Collins (and the sister restaurant Hudson and the sister beer store Last Drop Bottle Shop) and I have never been served a beer in a chilled glass - EVER. Even when I've gone on Seahawks game days. That is weird.

Last Drop has moved to plastic cups which is dumb, but I still like the place.

Feel like chilled glass is the norm at collins, but not overly concerned. Dont go on a stick ball day unless you like dealing with crowds of 4 to 5 people

Its been a couple years since I've gone to Collin's, but I too have never had a chilled glass. I have my own issues with the place (service is too inconsistent) but chilled glasses isn't one of them. Also, the food hasn't been as good as it once was under chef Addam Buzzalini.

I'm still getting notifications for this thread, so thought I'd pile on the love for Celestial Lineage here again. At the time, I thought it was the best thing I had on my whole trip, but it was the 6th thing I had at HM and I had already been drinking a while, so wasn't sure if I was just drunk or if it was that awesome.

Also opened up my Bbomb a few days ago and it was pretty great. I still can't believe stuff like that is just sitting around on shelves up there (though maybe only in Poulsbo). Texas is truly nuts. Even mediocre barrel aged stuff gets snatched up instantly unless it's $20+.

Stuff like that stays on shelves because we all don't run out and buy cases of the stuff. Plus, in general, there's so much good beer around, that we don't get worked up if miss one, because another will be along shortly. We like the fact that if we're in the mood for a thing, we can pretty much count on being able to get it for a while.

It definitely helps that the breweries-to-people ratio is extremely favorable, even in a crowded town like Seattle.

Well. there goes my honey hole.

J/K, glad you scored. I'll open my 2014 BBomb (s) when it starts raining continuously. Kinda a ritual for me.

Gearing up for fresh hop though. Just around the corner........

I cannot wait for fresh hop beer season. It's my favorite beer style. Can't stop won't stop the fresh hop.

First of all thanks for making this post - makes planning a trip so much easier. My wife and I have finally booked a long awaited weekend visit to Seattle for early October, however we weren't able to make this trip happen a couple years ago, so we'll have our 1 year old daughter joining us. I was hoping someone could comment on the general child/baby friendliness of some of the breweries and pubs (particularly the 4 "must visit" breweries) - websites don't always make that info easy to find.

Also, anyone know or have experience with using Uber with young children? I would love to be able to avoid renting a car and use Uber exclusively but I'm just not sure how practical that is with a baby. Booked an airbnb that's halfway between the Space Needle and Pike Place so for that stuff we won't even need a car. Any and all help is greatly appreciated - thanks again.

Black Raven doesn't allow kids. Holy Mountain doesn't allow kids. Airways doesn't allow kids. Every other brewery does as far as I know.

That's not including bars/pubs. Most don't let kids in, at least the big name places like Brouwers, Masonry, Pine Box, Burgundian, Toronado, Sixgill, Noble Fir, etc. However, Wurst Place, Mammoth, Hudson Public House and Collins Pub allow kids.

It sounds like you're probably on or close to the D bus route. Take the D to Ballard. Commence drinking. Reuben's and Stoup are close together. The locals can actually tell you what else is there. I'm mainly just suggesting that bus as an easy way to see another part of the city and do some drinking. You'll pass Holy Mountain on your way. Beg them to let you in with your (hopefully sleeping) one year old. I'm only partly kidding.

We took our kids on the buses and it's easy and cheap and relatively fast. Just have cash. Usually $5 for two adults. $5.50 rush hour

You can take your kid inside Holy Mountain to pick up a growler fill or swag, but you can't drink inside with them. I get to HM regularly, but I'd probably go more if I didn't have to coordinate kid watching duties.

I'll being doing a quick visit this weekend. Are there any bottle shops carrying anything that I must pick up (coming from the Minnesota but visit CA frequently). I've read some limited Fremont bottles are still floating around, but is there anything else? I'm open to any suggestions. Not familiar with NW beer scene as I've only visited a few times years ago. Great thread!

I'd say just hit up somewhere like Chuck's or Beer Junction. You're bound to find all kinds of stuff you don't normally have access to. Both of them tend to sell through the beer of the week, though. If you know what you're looking at, Beer Authority on Lake City Way always has something to get me excited. Found a random 2013 Velvet Merkin recently, some Double Barrel Jesus, etc. Bottleworks is also pretty great about finding the occasional gem. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations.

I tend to skirt the periphery of Seattle Beer awesomeness so here are a couple of places to check out.

    https://www.facebook.com/PintDefiance?fref=nf

    https://www.facebook.com/marinamarket?fref=ts

    https://www.facebook.com/99bottles

    https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gravity-Beer-Market/60001621160

As you can can, I Like them on FB and they send me updates when they get new stuff in. Don't forget about picking up a growler ( or 3) or better yet check out the crowler thread. The really good stuff rarely gets bottled around here.

Sometimes, sometimes, you can find something that may have sold out long ago. Best thing is to ask.

Because I'm too lazy to cross reference all the recommendations with a map, I'm looking for a little advice about the best beer spots near the Moore Theater. Thanks in advance!

Not much that's close. Pike Brewing is probably the closest. Maybe Bambinos? Pine Box and Collins Pub are both bit of a walk.

There's also the Yard House. Heh.
