Usually it takes longer to make higher ABV beers because they need to ferment longer, but I feel it's really up to the brewery what they decide to price the beer (as long as no crazy mark ups happen at retailers which isn't rare.) Evil Twin Sour Bikini is only 3% and usually is around $10 a bomber. While stouts from a brewery like Lagunitas are close to 10% and sell closer to $6.

Fantastic porter. Just grabbed one of the last two packs at my go-to store in southern indiana. Smell is booze and coffee. Taste is more chocolate than coffee for me. Love this stuff so far and can't wait to keep sipping as it warms.

Bought it cold.. I let it sit for 15-20 minutes before opening but could have used a few more. Awesome release by sixpoint. I have only had their Resin, Hi Res, Bengali, Global Warmer, and now 4Beans. Maybe one more I forgot. Highly recommend

No, I only bought one. They had lots of others, but, because the store's a relatively unknown beer emporium, I figure that I can go back and buy it whenever I want without having to worry about it getting sold out.

Should have picked it up when I saw it in Maine this past weekend. Haven't seen it in my area of Vermont yet. Sad panda.

Somebody fucked up with the price gun, because they are effectively losing money.

Just picked up a can of 4Beans here in CT. It's going to be very tough seeing this one sitting in my fridge waiting for the weather to get a little cooler. I think this one should be fine to age for a few months, BB Date is next year so...

I agree on a perception of less coffee and slightly more chocolate too. The mouthfeel plus that flavor gave it this almost mousse-like quality. Really well executed brew IMO.

Finally got some last night - this is really nice. Not quite as coffee-forward as I had hoped, as it leans more towards chocolatey as some others have mentioned, but it's still a very solid beer.

Interesting to hear the different opinions. To me the flavor was coffee first, chocolate second, and vanilla a distant third.

I just picked up a second 4-pack, this one for $8.99...not quite the low price, but close!

This beer is phenomenal. Now, if only I could get @Sixpoint to brew a tropical IPA in the 8% range. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Bengali Tiger, Resin and Hi-Res, but I think they're willing and capable of brewing something to rival all that New England goodness that is trending right now.

    Back to 4Beans -- stellar!
