So I moved to Sacramento this year, and after a few crazy months of resignation-turned-promotion and first home-turned-breakup, I feel like things are finally slowing down enough to try and get to know a few of the local BAers.

I wanted to gauge interest for a Sacramento-area share. I'd be happy to put in the legwork for finding a receptive location to host (or if it came to it, hosting myself). Just excited for the opportunity to meet some folks in a new city, and to share the spoils of my frequent travels with those who would enjoy the experience.

Also, it would be appreciated if you brought your beautiful, awesome, single friend/sister/in-law/neighbor/mom. But just beer is fine too.

That could be fun. What area of Sac? Midtown, West Sac, Natomas, Arden-Arcade… I'm a little south out in Lodi, but I travel to Sac fairly regularly because that's where the beer is, unless I happy to be traveling out towards the East Bay.

What kind of share are you looking for? Are you looking for people who have harder to find things?

Sounds like quite the year. I know some locals have put some shares together at Final Gravity-Roseville in the recent past. Old Town Pizza in Elk Grove is cool with shares as well, depending on the size of course. Depending on details, I might be interested.

    Hi.

How about at The Shack in East Sac? 5201 Folsom Blvd. I'm down.

    Bye.

Quite a year, indeed! I missed the last FG share; how many folks came out? Did the space work out well? Old Town Pizza could work, as we have interest from Lodi below.

I'm in Hollywood Park, right by Track 7. I have family in Lodi, so I get down that way as well. Maybe we could interest @Igotmypistola if we find some place reasonably accessible to you San Joaquin folks.

Well I'm not one to turn anyone away as long as they bring something they like! I travel all over the country for work, so I've got a few things that don't show up around here (Surly, Crooked Stave, Beechwood) but I don't exactly have a fridge full of whales. I've also got lots of Barrelworks stuff, and a '12-'15 Parabola Vertical I was thinking about cracking.

Have they hosted an event there before? Appreciate the enthusiasm, Dan.

To all interested, let me know if you have a normal M-F 9-5 thing going on, and we can start to hone in on a date. I'd like to see this happen some time this month!

I'll be back in town over Labor Day weekend but am not sure my availability. I tried to organize a bottle share last time I was in Roseville and literally got no turnout. Was pretty disappointing. It was during Beer Week so hopefully that was a contributing factor. Opened some BA Three Floyds, Central Waters Anniversary beers, and other goodies not available there so the Final Gravity staff was happy!

Nice! I have a '13-15 parabola tasting I need to do, too. I like to grow my 'whales' and tend to have a lot of vintage bottles laying around

Yeah, and people bring bottles in all the time to share with Gary and the staff. He's particularly a fan of sours, loooooooves saison and is an all around wonderful guy and genuine beer fan. He's incredibly generous in letting people try what he has on tap because he wants people to know what they're getting, learn more about beer and be satisfied with their purchases.

He's totally cool with people coming in and sharing among themselves, just make sure to tip well, play nicely, maybe order some food (food there is GREAT) and share with him. I live down the street, happy to join in, I really need to start depleting my stock.

Oh, don't plan to do this on a Thursday night. Trivia night is generally packed.

Oh, Jeeze.... Why don't we all just bring our Parabola verticals then!!??! I can't imagine how that could go wrong  (I think I have a complete set.)

I live in Lodi, and there are a few good beer spots here (lots of nice wine spots too).........not to steal the thunder of a Sac share, but if Lodi/Stockton folks are visiting the local beer spots on a weekend I'm usually down.

Sorry to hear that didn't pan out too well. I remember seeing the post, but I was out of town for work. I'll just keep expectations low, and worst case scenario, I'm drinking glorious beers with the bartender!

Looks like a Parabaparty in the making here. Remember all, you can't take your cellar with you!

You've made a compelling case, Dan; The Shack it is. You also win the Parabola Challenge. Maybe we can split up the duties a bit so no one is out their whole vert. Or maybe we just drink them all....

We got thunder to share. I'll use this thread to get something popping in Lodi one of these days too, but for now, The Shack!

So, assuming most folks are on a typical 9-5 thing, what's the preference between F 8/21, Sat 8/22, F 8/28, and Sat 8/29?

I can also make myself available on a weeknight if that's everyone's jam.

I supervise at BevMo! so my schedule is all over the place, but I just got my schedule for next week and surprisingly I have Saturday the 22nd off so that works for me. I close the 21st. Earlier in the evening would be preferable so I have time to 'cool off' before making a drive back to Lodi

I'm generally open, but note the very limited hours they are open on Sunday, so Saturday might be a better call.

I would go, but I'm busy the first weekend and at De Garde the next. Maybe next time. I'm new to Sac (3 weeks) so it'd be nice to meet some folk before I'm inevitably banned from this site.

I'm always down for a bottle share. There are a ton of locals who are interested, but some don't use BA for one reason or another. Busy on the 15th, but should be available the other weekends.

Just got back from De Garde myself. Wish I was going for the party this month :slight_frown:

Maybe I'll bring back something nice to share.

Also, I don't spend much time on this site, I'm on other ones that I literally can't name on here. So if you post on the one that rhymes with "stalk deer" I'll be more likely to see it. They have a good regional forum there.

Definitely not too late. I've just been lazy about responding.

I think the 22nd will be perfect.

Agreed. Are shares happening there on the regular, or should I reach out to the Shack?

Sorry you can't make it this time. I'm not on any other sites, so feel free to drop a hint over there that we're getting something cooking. Welcome to Sacramento!
