what beers have you found that excel here? Most of the crafts I've tried I can't even make it through the first can. "Session" beers aren't necessarily good drinkers with most of them tasting like lemon water. So far Heady, Bengali, and Hop Hunter seem to fit the bill for me.

What was the question? Are you looking for high abv that are super drinkable?

any IPA/APA in the 5-6% abv would work

Based on title, thought this would be an AB marketing thread.

Not really sure how to answer. I see you are in CT and like hoppy beers - have you tried Sea Hag?

Most german beers in exports strength excell for me, dangerously so. Latest example, though kinda industrial: Köstritzer Kellerbier.5.4%abv., and super drinkable- I had 3 0.5l bottles very shortly without realizing it, very soft, nice malty body, went down a treat. All dark franconian beers excell in that category as well of course. Take Vierzehnheiligener Nothelfer Trunk, served by bayerischer Anstich-5.1% abv. and it throws itself in......
Or think of Hefeweizens, most are over 5.4% and on a hot day they are very drinkable.

But for me, also several more straightforward belgians are dangerously drinkable. Think of La Chouffe Blonde. 8% abv and very drinkable for me........

    This.

SN Pale Ale, most Deschutes IPA's. On my local scene, Proclamation Derivative at 6% is fantastic.

I find Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin extremely drinkable ... and at 7% that demands caution. You can sail right through buzz and straight into "whoa."

    Belgian Golden Strong Ale
    Belgian Dark Strong Ale
    Belgian Tripel
    Belgian Quadrupel
Any of these will produce both of your desires, very nicely. IMO.

If I didn't seriously constrain myself at any establishment serving a German Helles I would quickly rack up a large bill. I love drinking that stuff.

That's what I took from this as well.
And if that's the case....I'll say Dirtwolf, Sucks, Overhead and 077XX are all dangerously drinkable!!! Proceed w/ caution....

Yes. Went right in the trash. SS2 was awful too. I don't care what alcohol it has as long as it it's drinkable. I need a cleanish finish. I can't stand that old orange rind buildup on my tongue.

Boat Beer cans from Carton Brewing (session ale) are scary crushable. You could drain the four pack without thinking about it. Fantastic hop profiles too. Not lacking in taste.

"Most of the crafts I've tried"....do people really use that word? I would say if you don't like the "crafts" try a none "craft". Bud platinum is drinkable and has a pretty high ABV or just a standard Budweiser. Highly drinkable and has @5^% abv.

Carton Regular Coffee. That is seriously 12.00% ABV? I don't believe it @augiecarton - I can drink that stuff all day!

As far as drinkability to abv ratio, bomb is rediculous

A question that I have pondered often in the past. For a combination of session-able without forfeiting the flavor and ABV of bigger beers. My short list is as -

Lagunitas PILS -a pilsner crispness with APA ABV
Stone IPA - The dry finish keeps you going back for more
Bell 2 Hearted - so incredibly balanced
