Hey everyone, looking forward to seeing you crazy bastards again later this month. Who all will be there?

Aslo, anyone one staying at Mar Clair, please be kind and clean up . I and a few friends had to clean up the crazy mess last time early in the morning, and considering the rocky past relationship with the hotel keep, we need to be on goodish behavior. Lets keep them happy with a full reservation of the hotel every three months and a clean exit!

    Thanks dudes and broads!

I am definitely looking forward to the next De Garde party, and will be staying at the Mar Clair once again.

Sorry to hear that you had to clean up after someone else's mess. That's just appalling.

Probably happens because the shares get shut down before everyone is done drinking. They ask everyone to leave and cleaning up isn't the first thing people think to do. Probably safe to assume that they'll want it over with by 11 again, and to try and start winding it down before then so the area isn't a disaster that some poor hungover soul has to help tidy up in the morning

Let's just keep it clean and be thankful they allow it at all (Mar Clair).

I'll say, it's looking to be a really great release, both in terms of our bottles, our taps, and guest pours. Very excited. I think...
    See everyone soon!

Won't be able to be there for the party itself (unfortunately) but I can't wait to get at some of the left overs the Friday after!

Very sad I won't be able to make it this release. Surgery shall be preventing me from going, thankfully I'll be moving up some point soon. I can only imagine the goodies you all have lined up. Oh yeah, and keep it clean guys so we can all enjoy it in the future!

Can't wait, this will be my 2nd round. That after party was insane, there was a mess, that is for sure. I wanted to help more, but they only had one garbage can and that thing filled up fast. There must have been at least 2 garbage cans worth of bottles left over on the table in the morning. Ill have to look for a dumpster before getting too deep into the share this time. Looking forward to some more of those bomb tacos and amazing beers from De Garde!

My friends and I just popped the anniversary, imperial stone bu and nectarine premiere over the weekend to discuss the trip. Holy cow were those delicious, especially the nec prem!

It might also help if people take care of their own bottles. Maybe throw them out in the waste baskets in their own rooms, instead of just leaving them out on the table?

Honestly, it's probably easier for the cleaning crew to have all the bottles in one place.

There's no way the hotel doesn't see these nights coming from a mile away by now, right? Maybe someone could suggest a few extra cans or other system for keeping things tidy be in place before the festivities begin?

That kind of makes it sound like the hotel is actually hosting the bottle share, instead of just tolerating it. Going by the OP's comments, I'm not convinced that's the case.

When another business (Growler Guys, 'Mongers, etc.) hosts a share, they can generally expect to get some additional sales out of it, since it's pretty much standard procedure to thank your hosts by purchasing a growler or a bottle on your way out. I don't see what the Mar Clair gets out of this bottle share except a mess. Repeat customers, maybe?

If the extra income from occupancy that night didn't cover any extra housekeeping or other costs related to the shares, the hotel would likely stop tolerating it.

So be sure to tip the housekeeping!

I guess Mar Clair is the place to be then. I was wondering if any bottle shares would be happening and if i should get a room for that night. I'll be coming in from Jersey.

Anyone looking to split a room in Tillamook?
I am driving from SF and plan to stay in Portland the night before the party, but stay in Tillamook the night of and take off to SF from there.
Private Message me if you are interested.
If you have a room at Mont Clair or nearby already, that would be perfect.

Apropos of nothing, except that we're talking about De Garde, I opened my only bottle of Earl Desay this afternoon. What a gorgeous beer.

The Earl Desay is the best beer I've ever tried from dG, and I'm just sad they don't (or didn't) make more of it. Ah well...
