Toward sundown for me. Preferably after a solid day of work or afternoon of golf.

I find Smarch to be a fine time for IIPAs.

Rarely. I prefer my beer with less double kick drums.

I'm really only in the mood for IIPA's on weekdays. And Saturday and Sunday.

When I work my ass off, when I have 2 jobs one of which is 40 hours and requires 2 hours commuting daily, when I am striving for my goals and am highly motivated. I want an intense beer that brings me out of the grind and into the now, the few hours I have spare.

If I drink at nite, it will likely be the last beer I have sitting in my living room at home in the AC. I can't even order them in a bar when I am out during the daylight, the heat this time of year just doesn't do mix well for me. Hot as hell in Houston now.

The American imperial/double IPA is a closer for me.

I'm not the biggest fan of them, but I do love the fact that they're so hoppy and so *big* that I can save them for last in a session of 3-4 different styles of beer and still enjoy all they have to offer. I wouldn't drink a Helles lager after a DIPA, but I'll drink the hell out of a DIPA after *anything*, if that makes sense.

I feel the same way about Imperial Stouts. I live in South Florida and find it hard to get in the mood to drink a 10-14% abv viscous beer when it's 90 degrees out. The good news is that my beer cellar has improved!

I don't care what season it is, I'll drink whatever I feel like. For instance, I'm gonna drink Mornin' Delight in a couple weeks when it summer. I drink IPAs all winter long. I've never understood why people feel the need to drink a certain beer at a certain time of year aside from seasonal.

Interesting topic. For whatever reason I reason I like Imperial IPAs on Saturday night while watching the local scary movie show....Its fun because sometimes they have a drinking word (or I create my own) and will consume a Simtra or other high ABV beer. As far as heat, that's not usually a problem in San Francisco.

I like a nice DIPA when it's cool and rainy, oh wait, that's almost all the time! (PNW Coastal joke)

I could drink Surly Abrasive every day no matter the conditions. The grapefruit flavor in that beer is perfect for summer, fall, winter, spring, it really doesn't matter. A good beer is a good beer no matter what the season.
