Obviously, because a 1 and 4 year old would have the attention span to wait 3+ hours in a line that will consume half of Brookline just before dad goes in to get his pallet smashed with hops.

Brew at the Zoo is tomorrow and might be more your kids speed.

Zero beer geeks, tons of great beer, & animals.

My abhorrence of lines is pretty well known around these parts. And personally, I think anyone waiting more than 15-20 minutes for a beer (which appears to be a lot of you) is crazy.

However, I have to share my completely snark-free gratitude to everyone that's contributing to draining the kegs this weekend. It'll be a good chunk of money to the National MS society, which does a lot of good for several people I know.

    So, thanks!

I think I might be scared away from this. My line limit is 2 hours. Should be fun for those who wait though!

I think I'll try to head there after the event, just b/c daytime Saturday is sort of a hard sell family wise and I have no interest in fighting crowds. I'm guessing they'll be plenty of good stuff still

Anyone know if the $15 is just to get through the door?

Yes, that is the cover charge to get in.

    It's actually a charitable donation.

Edit: Dick comment, sorry. But worth keeping it in perspective for anyone bitching about the line or "cover". That said, you couldn't pay me $15 to wait in line to drink IPAs in an overcrowded bar.

With all this line talk, anyone thinking about just hiding out in the bathroom tonight after close?

Unfortunately it's not. We've heavily supported the HHTD since its inception (Anam Cara 2004) and helped pack the place every year, but then it skipped a year and we heard about its return when all of you did. Regardless, I hope they do well and raise some money and awareness for the MS Society. And I encourage everyone to try a bowl of the now famous ThrowDown Chili.

Those Trinidad wings will rip your face off if they are the same ones from a couple years ago. Surprised they don't have anything highlighting the Carolina reaper chili on the menu.

    Thanks for the food tip.

To add to the "hidden gem" speculation, I'd guess (in order): ZD, a TH beer like Very Green or King J, PtE, Dinner. Given that ZD has showed up in Boston before and it's not s'posed to be distro'd here, the "hush hush" would make sense. Dinner is about the only one that doesn't make sense--last brewed 6/20 and next batch not til October--but I wouldn't be surprised at one of the other three.

My guess is the gem is a Trillium beer, JC mentioned a beer brewed after Green Street that was the Catalina Wine mixer of hops, 2 more hours!

That's for Hop Jam (altho he obviously could have brewed some for this, too).
