That sucks. Please provide more details. Also, tagging @OandJinAustin to see if he will show up and tell his side of story.

@Mattygross44 I'll ask the obvious, before someone else does, but did you use the trade request before shipping? And did you both accept before sending? It shows he has (2) open trades.

Also, as @jrnyc asked above, more details will certainly help people understand the situation fully.

Yes what was sent? What were you supposed to get in return? When was the last time you had any contact? Next time consider making a trader with zero feedback ship first

@evilcatfish 45 days ago the OP also had zero fb.

@Mattygross44 you're a relatively new member with very little trading history. Many members, myself included, would still expect you to ship first on most trades. You can minimize your risk by restricting your early trades to experienced traders with 10-20 positive fb.

When choosing trading partners review fb carefully. You want strong, enthusiastic positives. Be wary of fb that seems to be a thinly disguised negative, especially if poor communication or slow shipping are mentioned. Some of those people might be worth trading with, but you want to be in a position to ask them to ship 1st.

Experienced traders not only carry less risk of disappearing without shipping your beer. They can also be invaluable sources of information, advice & support.

Do you have OandJinAustin's cell & email? If so have you tried contacting him through those? Or Facebook?

45 days is a ridiculously long time. I hope he gets you the beer you're owed asap.

@JavaNoire thank you for the advice i guess just being new to the whole beer trading game i will chalk this up as a learning experience. Its nice people like you and tons other i have met that have helped me and taught me along the way and i thank you. Yes i have his cell but no replies back either. Its just been excuse after excuse we had contact on BA up to about 10 days ago and he hasnt wrote me back. He kept telling me how busy he was and its not about the money its about finding time to ship the beer and just was always something coming up. I sent some fw vintage stuff stickee monkee some almanac sours and some really good cali extras. But now i know about the whole trade request and how to use it. I shouldn't have shipped but it was my fault a rookie mistake. Thanks guys for all your help and advice serious means a lot to me! You guys rock. @jrnyc @evilcatfish @dmbforever

This sucks. He was on yesterday at 6:45PM. What's going on @OandJinAustin ???? I understand you're busy but so am I, the OP, and pretty much everyone I know. If you have time to log on here, you have time to ship the damn beer

@Mattygross44 Don't let one bad apple ruin it for you. There's a sh$t ton of awesome traders on this site. Although looking on the ISO/FT forums lately, that may not appear to be the case. Anyways....if there is something from WI that interests you, feel free to BM me. I'll send a box of goodness your way with no strings attached (free). I mean that sincerely.

    Cheers,
    Dave

@F2brewers - Just tagging you in case you haven't seen this thread.

@Mattygross44 - F2 is a mod who has been dealing with some of these bad trader threads. Sure, there are rules and best practices, but regardless of the letter of the law, if someone is screwing people over in trades, the hammer will still drop. That said, it will be helpful if you can clarify the following questions:
    - Did you/the other trader respond to a posted ISO thread?
    - It seems that the trade was agreed to via PM on Beer Advocate? Is that correct?
    - Is there an accepted trade in the trade system?

Hopefully you can get a response from him and get the box you are owed!!

I've been out of country for a few weeks, hopefully I can reply to this thread.

I have drank with the trader in question @OandJinAustin at a share or two, and have some contact info.
Now that I think of it, he owes me a few small FFF bottles or something like that.

It'd be nice to get his side of the story before jumping to conclusions.
However, if the situation is as you explain it must be corrected, or many Austin drinkers will not want them around at shares.

What a bummer - as you can see from my post I also sent him like $100 worth of beer.

Thanks for taking the time to let me know @jrnyc - I have been waiting to get my box in return also. He has given me some excuses about working long hours and waiting for a JK release but has oddly enough been pretty responsive, so I haven't really thought much of it. In particular he posted the box he got from me and even messaged me to let me know how much he liked some of the beers he had shared with some people (@nsheehan you share any of the Lickinghole Creek stuff with him?). That's a pretty big middle-finger to tell someone how much you enjoyed the beer you are stealing from them...

I also am hoping that we are jumping to conclusions a bit, since he did seem to be a pretty genuine guy looking for something for his Fiancé who was doing a decent job of communicating. Will send him a message now and see if I get a response.

Oh man, you must have shipped 3 weeks ago based on the 'haul' thread. Sorry to hear that.

Thanks for jumping in here. So he has time to accept two big boxes of beer, post one of then in a haul but doesn't have the time to send what he owes and communicate properly with OP.

@nsheehan - Would be cool of you to use your knowledge of this guy to get him to communicate and send the beer he owes.
